I encountered this through Napolean Hill first, and I like his explanation and manual the best so far. "The Secret" is sort of modern branding of the same thing and it sounds like they ripped off the marketing from Earl Nightingale too. hahaha.

The concepts and practices (especially N Hill's) definitely work, but I never did anything for or against anyone. I didn't like the idea of contested wills, energy manipulation in social situations, etc. I no longer have a moratorium on doing things like that, but I'm uncertain I want to. I'd also recommend "Tantra Unveiled" which I read a few years ago, and they used Tantra in social situations to create social harmony. I'm still cautious about it though. I didn't want to manipulate people, which meant not manipulating their energies as well. Obviously other people don't have the same restrictions... am I the better person or just the loosing one? Is it morally correct to use my ability to control and focus intention/energy/emotion to create social harmony? to cause people to fall in love? to get what I want? Not having answers, I declared a moratorium. Maybe I should answer those questions, I'm interested in yours.
