When I first heard about "The Secret" and what the secret actually was, it was apparent to me that it was a ripoff of Earl Nightingale's "The Strangest Secret", a self-help tape from the 80s. That doesn't mean that the points are invalid, though. The main premise behind Nightingale's tape was "We become that which we think about all the time." If you think about becoming rich all the time, you'll become rich. If you think about curing cancer all the time, you'll cure cancer. That's pretty much the point of it, and it makes sense to me. He also mentioned W Clement Stone's quote, too, and worked it into the tape.
I think it works, though, or at least it has for me so far...

I hope it works for you, too!

I encountered this through Napolean Hill first, and I like his explanation and manual the best so far. "The Secret" is sort of modern branding of the same thing and it sounds like they ripped off the marketing from Earl Nightingale too. hahaha ( ... )

I think I have an answer to the questions about using energy to cause harmony or getting what you want from Poonja:
"Discriminate between transient things
and the Eternal Love that YOU ARE.
Then do whatever you want, whatever you please."

I have 500 pages of dialogs with Poonja, and the answer is involving most of them but ultimately trying to become attached will only lead to suffering and trying to be Free will lead to Peace.

someone asked about people who fight and people who are following a path of enlightenment
Q: " So this is how you could be both an anti-British freedom fighter and a Krishna devotee?"
A: "Krishna himself carries the Sudarshan Chakra on his finger. This is the greatest weapon of all. He also killed many people and demons who were bringing great harm to innocent people. An example of this is when he killed his uncle Kamsa because he troubled the entire state. There is no trouble in fighting unless you kill innocent people, which of course is a sin. You can fight so that all beings may live in Peace, but not for selfish reasons."

http://www.npi.gov.au/database/substance-info/profiles/24.html They are starting to use Chromium(III) instead of (VI) for treating leather because it is less toxic, but still toxic.
