fortnight to dine in hell
Co-worker went on holiday last Friday. So I'll be filling in as the newspaper designer for two weeks. It's nice to take a break from my copy-editing duties, but since I'm not a regular designer, it takes a bit longer for me to do. It's nonstop work, work, work. Today is normally a slow and easy day, but I was working for 9-10 hours nonstop. I didn't leave the building once. I brought my lunch. I was even so busy that I didn't eat the second sandwich I brought with me. Tuesdays and Fridays will be utter hell, as we put out two papers on those days. But a somewhat nice byproduct of me filling in means that this coming weekend, I will actually get Sunday off. That's right, I will have two -- count'em, two! -- days off consecutively. It's only for this coming weekend though. So this week, I will have Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday off. Who wants to party with me? >:)
Boss came back from her 3-week honeymoon. I heard her talking with a co-worker about vacation days and I was brought up a couple of times because of my scheduled 2-week vacation in July. So I informed them that I was no longer going to China, and that I am cutting down that vacation to 1 week. It freed up a week for my co-worker to be able to take off. I have July 24 to 30 scheduled for my vacation. I chose those dates so I can either choose to attend Comic Con (July 25 to 29, possibly work T-shirt booth July 24 to 30) or go to Hip Hop International (July 25 to 29) to experience the world hip hop championships or... I could just sit at home and veg for a week.
