What's this about Profanity on a badge? I didn't hear about this? Can you provide details? Inquiring Minds want to know.... :)
Also what's wrong with starting early? Sure beats starting 30-60 minutes late in my book... Better Early than late. I 100% support starting early or on time, I so sick of Masq starting over 45 minutes late every year.. Every year I see events not starting on time, and it kills me, I wish there were more people like Kenji who would have the balls to start events on time.
As for All Star MVP, it was voted on by all the staff. Unfortunatly not everyone voted, so.........if you wanted someone else to be ALL star MVP, then get people you know to vote. Yeah, I know the window is short, and a website where someone can just click on who they want would be better, but hey, it's democracy in action.. I wouldn't blame AX managment on who ended up with the award.
As for Chase's award...I didn't even know about it, so, you can say it was SOME of the AX Staff folks that got together to give him an award. Although I think his achevements were more than just press releases, he did acomplish alot in ADs and publicity behind the scenes that helped AX alot, and increased attendance and awareness of AX. For example he got a 4 page color spread ad in the LA times twice in an unbelievably great deal.
My friend was double checking her registration in the online system and found that her nickname had been changed to read "Flat Prostitute". Turns out a staffer had gone into the registration system and done the change. This was AX2004, I think. I sent a letter of concern to Trulee that year.
Starting early is bad when the people you have in line haven't even been seated yet. You never start an event early. Late is better than early, event-wise. You can wish for people to have the "balls" like Kenji to start "on time", but you forget, he didn't start on time, he started early. You miss this very important point. I question your judgement.
I didn't blame management for selecting the All Star MVP. The All Star MVP is just a horrible human being.
Chase's work... it's his goddamn job. If you're getting paid for something, you do it. Yeah, he got AX a great deal with the LA Times, but the LA Times didn't benefit from the partnership at all. I brightened the Times' guy's day when I walked up to talk to him. And then he was crestfallen when he found out I work for the company.
Something is rotten in Denmark when the villains are lauded as heroes.
