Awake just before 6am this morning, mind alert and thinking about the coming work week(!?) I laid there for an hour with a eye mask on trying to get back to sleep to no avail so I finally just got up.

Phew I needed that. Sorry for the brain dump, which may be mostly intelligible. Writing in my journal really helps clear my mind and sort my thoughts out. It's been too much time during which too much has happened; my head was getting cluttered.

I'm not a fan of the new lj website though. It doesn't really work well, and I can't find anything.

Social diary packed for the next couple months. Mission to connect and be distracted and go out is working. Now time to turn attention back to saving money. Doing a survey at lunch reminded me that I saw Chick Corea last year. I'd totally forgotten, and in going back in lj it seems I never wrote about it! Such a crime. A living legend, playing with Brian Blade and Christian McBride -- some of my favorites -- and I didn't even mention it in my journal.
