biking and working and things

Managed to ride in twice this week. It rained part of the way one day, and it's been a bit chilly, but I've been enjoying it. It *feels* like autumn. The leaves, the smell, the light. I think that's what's making in bearable. The rain wasn’t so bad, but it wasn’t so hard and not terribly cold either. I got some winter gloves and some long lycra (gasp) pants, along with my little windbreaker it seems to do the trick down to maybe 7 degrees C. Still not sure about the winter, but it’s a good start.

Seems strange that at my age I’m still struggling to accept where I fit in. Sure I know a lot more than I used to, and I’m quite comfortable with myself, but there are still times I look at my more ambitious peers and resent them. Or look at where I am and wonder what’s more. I shouldn’t though; it doesn’t really do any good. I am where I am and I do what I do because I make good decisions and work efficiently. I work smarter, not harder. That will only get you so far. If others are more focused on their career and are willing to work for it, then good for them. As long as they don’t stab me in the back to get there, I should be happy for them.

You may have noticed ads on my journal now. I’ve worked out I can trade them to get my userpics back. I like userpics, sorry.
