It started out OK, for a Monday. Woke up, laid there a while in the dark dozing in and out, long hot shower, decided to skip shaving. Lovely toast with nice butter and a strong coffee for breakfast, as well as a sneaky bite of cheese from lunch.
Then I realised I'd already missed the early train. When I stepped out the door, it was staight into a puddle. The bus at the other end saw me (and another person from my office) but still closed the door and drove off. Was late to my first meeting, and my foot is still cold and wet.
Oh Monday, you are always a shocker. At least the weekend was good, as it usually is when our friends from the north are in town. Lovely sushi lunch. A lot of time in the pub, a comedy show, then back home to drink until passed out. The comedy show was awful, but the rest of the day made up for it, as did being with our friends. Everyone was feeling pretty poorly on Sunday, but I made world's biggest breakfast, courtesy of the local butcher, then sent our friends on their way so we could all recover in peace.

I'm still feeling down. Can't bring myself to rejoice in the autumn or care about celebrating my birthday. The only time I'm contented is when I'm in my kitchen.
