Most of the weekend saw my ass practically glued to the couch, rewatching Mad Men season 1, as well as two crappy movies (Jumper and National Treasure 2).
Wednesday through Friday I dug out the river rock next to the driveway in order to better shape the drainage that has been slowly eating away at the soil near the concrete since we moved in. Then we got 2 inches or so of rain over the weekend and my six inch channel was two feet deep on Sunday morning, with an alluvial fan of dirt spread out over the sidewalk and into the street. Afternoons for the rest of the week will likely be spent redistributing soil and rock to keep this sort of thing from happening again.
Sunday night Carrie and I attended Alicia's birthday, where we hung out with Mary and Ray, as well as Alicia's coworkers, all of whom were pretty cool. Mary breaking down blowgun into two different words and acting each out in Guesstures was a particular highlight.
Last night was supposed to be Burning Wheel Rome, but some distractions coupled with me feeling beat-down tired made me call it off. Played a bit of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 instead.
Donated blood for the first time today. For any interested local parties (and yes
phargle, I know you can't) they give away two free Allen Theaters movie passes if you donate on Monday or Tuesday. And if you decide to go let me know and I can give you a card good for two more.
Also, our new 40-inch LCD TV arrived today, a bit sooner than I figured it would. Need to look into converting to Dish Network's HD setup so we can take full advantage of this bad boy.
