The Anti-climax of Dan's Weekend of No-Strings-Attached Rebound Sex

This weekend was gracefully void of mistakes. Quinn and Frank canceled the "surprise" at the last minute. It was all for the better for all individuals potentially involved probably. I've been feeling very nonsexual lately. I don't think if I were in a relationship (heaven forbid at this point) I would be comfortable sharing a partner with a friend. Call me old-fashioned. I suspected all along one of them would get cold feet so I never expected it to actually happen. It was kind of amusing talking about with them though and pretending we were gonna do it.

I'm confirming for myself some insights about The Connection Andrew Greer shared with me last year. Something about the place and/or the people who frequent it has/have a way of bringing out and celebrating the very worst contributions of the American "gay culture". I'm not just referring to legal and illegal intoxication and careless promiscuous sex. I've never witnessed the level of shallow narcissism I see at The Connection anywhere else I've been. This is going to sound really harsh but I think the bar is mostly full of insecure and incomplete men. It saddens me (and frankly it frightens me) to see so many young gay guys with so little integrity. Most of the guys there don't even know or choose to ignore rudimentary manners. They either gossip about outfits, talk about who they wanna fuck that night or argue with each other for no good reason. Few of the people I've talked to there have ever had anything interesting or meaningful to say. In short, The Connection is a great den of bad karma I think I'd be wise to avoid as much as possible in the future.
