Prologue: Sungmin
I. Yesung
“Hyung, what are you doing?”
Sungmin was lying on the sofa, tired and sleepy after another hectic schedule that day. But he had to get up in two hours for another class hence why he was lying on the sofa and not sleeping in his room. He was supposed to get some rest, atleast he's trying to get some until this one particular hyung crawled on top of him and started to nuzzle his neck. His breath hitched when he felt a hand rubbed his thigh.
A low chuckled heard, and Sungmin shivered. The husky voice of that man never failed to make him weak. It was not long until he surrendered under the man's ministration. They had done this so many times until that man knew exactly where Sungmin's pleasure spots were. Low moan and sigh escaped from his lips, and after few strokes, Sungmin came with loud moan, called that man's name in the process.
“Yesung-hyung...”
“Thanks for the meal.”
The husky voice spoke and Sungmin felt a smile tugged on his lips. He opened his eyes he didn't realized he had closed. The lead singer on top of him wore a satisfied expression. He licked the younger male's neck. A smirk plastered on his face.
“You tasted good, like usual.”
“Really?” Sungmin replied easily, pulled the other's neck and kissed his mouth. Moaning while doing so. Yesung's taste was unique, peppermint and cinnamon, and something familiar though he couldn't put his finger on it. Tasty. He wouldn't mind kissing Yesung forever.
“Hm... so do you.”
Sungmin whispered softly, earning another low chuckle from the older male. He pushed his head and gave the man a small peck on his lips before closing his eyes again, savoring the afterglow.
They were not lovers as some people thought. Some might called their relation as friends with benefits, but for Sungmin, they were just bestfriends. It just happened naturally, they belonged to the same club, they both participating in musical plays, they shared same passion about musics, they had so many in commons and yet so many differences. Yesung with his straightforward personality and Sungmin with his introvert self. But nonetheless, they cared about each other although it's not a romantic feeling they felt.
Being friends didn't stop them for seeking pleasure from one another though. Just like their friendship which happened naturally, they didn't find it's strange to touch each other on intimate places. They both needed the release sometimes, so why not use each other? And Yesung was also good looking. Very good looking in fact.
“Geez, hyung, you should get a room. You scarred our innocent eyes!”
Sungmin looked up to find one Lee Hyukjae, or commonly known as Eunhyuk, stood at the door, with Donghae which looked like he wanted to burst laughing and Kyuhyun with an expression he couldn't decipher. Sungmin pushed Yesung out of his laps and straightened himself. He leaned his head on Yesung's chest, smirked at Eunhyuk who's trying his hardest not to look at those two.
“Oh, come on, Hyukie, you're just disappointed you didn't see the free porn from the start,” said Yesung with serious face before a smile escaped to his lips seconds later; making Sungmin and Donghae laughed at Eunhyuk's scandalized expression.
Sungmin stood up, being modest with wrapping his blanket around his waist to hide the stain on his pants. He ran his fingers on his hair which now looked like a mess after his previous activity. He didn't quite listen to the bickers between Yesung and Eunhyuk (with Donghae's occasional comments) about the later's infamous collection of porn as he was trying to tidy up himself a bit.
“I'm going to shower,” he announced, not caring if others heard him or not. Then he lowered himself to whisper on Yesung's ear, with a smile gracing his lips as if he was speaking sweet words to the older man.
“You're lucky he's not with them, hyung.”
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
Sungmin just smiled knowingly. Sometimes he felt he understood Yesung more than the person itself. He looked behind his shoulder and tried not to laugh at Eunyuk's scared face, obviously thinking they were exchanging flirty words or something along those lines. He peeked at Donghae who already busy with his iPhone, it seemed he no longer thought their conversation interesting. While Kyuhyun just stood quietly, looking at him with unreadable expression. Sometimes he just dying to know what the youngest thinking; his eyes were so dark sometimes they were so scary he didn't dare to look at them. Eventhough they'd been roommates for more than a year now.
He yawned a bit before going to the bathroom, not caring when Eunhyuk and Yesung started to bickering again.
II. Kyuhyun
Sungmin strummed his guitar, humming quietly while doing so. A soft pink towel on his head, covering his wet hair. He wore black shorts and white t-shirt, which half soaked because of his hair. There were random noises in the background. Loud music and voices of people speaking things he couldn't understand. He looked up his shoulder, only chuckled when he saw his roommate absorbed in his game.
He lived in a dorm with 14 other people. In SM college, they were given room in dorm. At first he was going to live in smaller dorm with only 4 other people, but because there were problems about this and that about the dorm itself they had to search another empty dorm. At first Sungmin thought he would never survive in a dorm with that much people with his quiet personality. But now, he couldn't even imagine how he could survive in college world without his dorm-mates. There was Yesung, his senior in plays club. Ryeowook, the closest person he could call brother and his junior in music club. And of course Kyuhyun, his roommate for almost two years.
Most of them paired up in the dorm, which was all purely by luck since they only put their names on a bowl before taking it and paired up with anyone with their name written on it. He roommated with Kyuhyun was a pure coincidence too, but he never complained even once. Despite Kyuhyun's annoying gaming habit, he's pretty cool.
“Kyu?” said Sungming softly, not wanting to surprise the younger boy who was too absorbed on his game. He received a grunt for an answer and that meant really much, as Kyuhyun never show any reaction if it's other person call him in the middle of his game. Sungmin could proudly say he was Kyuhyun's favorite hyung, other than Leeteuk. But Leeteuk was everyone's favorite, so he's not counted.
"Nothing," said the older boy with a shrugged. He put his guitar on his side and continued looking at Kyuhyun. The later paused his game, he turned around his chair an raised his eyebrows at the other male.
"What is it, hyung?"
"It's nothing."
"Are you sure?" Said Kyuhyun as he walked to Sungmin. He sat beside him and poked Sungmin's cheek.
"Hey!" The older of those two laughed and pushed Kyuhyun's hand away. "You should respect your hyung more, you know."
"I respect you enough, Sungmin."
"Hey! Call me hyung!"
"I probably will when you are taller than me."
"That' not fair at all!" Sungmin laughed, he punched Kyuhyun's face with his pillow. The magnae only laughed and covered his face with both of his hands to protect himself from Sungmin's attack. Sungmin gave up after some punches and leaned his forehead to Kyuhyun's shoulder, a smile gracing his lips.
“Ah, I'm tired.”
“You're too hyperactive, Min.”
“Hyung!”
“Wow, you finally admit you're younger than me?”
“I mean call me, hyung, magnae!” Sungmin laughed again, punched Kyuhyun's shoulder lightly. He tried to pout but his smile wouldn't disappear so he settled with laugh. His laugh didn't last long as suddenly Kyuhyun put his forehead on Sungmin's own, looking directly to the older male's eyes. Sungmin blinked his eyes, confused at the sudden gesture.
“Why did you call me, hyung?”
“I-“
His words were cut abruptly when someone entered their room with a loud bang. Sungmin turned his head, looked at the intruder with big eyes.
"Hyung!" Sungmin quickly ran to the pissed looking man at the door. "Are you okay?"
"No."
Yesung was known for his bluntness so Sungmin wasn't surprised when the older male said that. He just pulled him to his bed, where Kyuhyun quickly stood and went to continue his game. Sungmin sat beside Yesung, looking at him worriedly.
"What happened?"
"Kangin," spat Yesung venomously, "he said I can't sing and I should just drop Yesung name because like he said, I quote, 'You obviously don't have the talent. I wonder why people speak of you so highly.' "
Kangin, their dorm-mate, the director of their next musical play, sometimes could be annoying. Sungmin already knew that. But he's a good hyung and he could be really kind at times. He never expected him saying things like that. Afterall, people called his hyung Yesung not because of nothing. Sungmin never heard people with better voice than him, and obviously most people other than Kangin thought the same thing. He's a freaking professional singer! He wouldn't be a singer if he didn't have the talent. Personally, Sungmin thought Kangin only jealous because Yesung tended to get more appraises than the director.
Sungmin hugged Yesung, he patted his shoulder but saying nothing. He allowed Yesung nuzzled his neck, inhaled Sungmin's scent to comfort himself.
“Do you also think I don't have talent in sing?”
“Stupid, hyung. You're 'Yesung'.”
III. Ryeowook
Music class was his sanctuary, he once said to his dorm-mates. He was not surprised when Ryeowook told him it was his too. Because the younger man loved playing piano and the music class was the only room in the college which had a piano. It's ivory in color and Ryeowook loved the piano so much he could stay there for hours without eating or drinking. It was not healthy, thought Sungmin, but he loved seeing Ryeowook expression when he's playing the piano. So he never tried to take the younger man away from his beloved piano unless it's absolutely necessary.
That afternoon there were only the two of them in the music class. It's not an unusual view, Ryeowook with his papers on piano and Sungmin with his guitar on the corner of the room. Today though, Sungmin didn't play his instrument. Instead he watched the younger man playing the grand piano. It was a lightheartening song with gentle feeling. Sweet and nice, just like Ryeowook himself.
The song ended with quiet high note.
Sungmin clapped, he looked at his junior with admiration in his eyes. He always admired Ryeowook's talent in music. Not only he played the piano very well, he also composed songs. It's one talent Sungmin would never have.
“It's lovely, Wookie.”
“It wasn't that good, hyung,” Ryewook smiled, a faint blush appeared on his cheeks. The younger male was a shy guy and he only appeared confident when he's playing the piano. That's one quality Sungmin always thought endearing. Ryeowook's lover in the future most likely would have the urge to protect him.
“It was that good, it was very sweet. I love it.”
“Thank you, hyung...”
“You should believe in your talent more. You are really good, Wookie.”
“Ah, yeah, I guess I should. Thanks, hyung,” said Ryeowook with shy smile on his face.
Sungmin put his hand around the younger's shoulder and chuckled lightly. Ryeowook was one of his bestfriends, quiet and a really nice person. He's different than they other dorm-mates. Atleast for Sungmin. He usually thought his dorm-mates as someone he could hold onto, especially Leeteuk and Kangin. Heechul, although most times he only worried about himself, was someone Sungmin could asked for help too. So were Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Kibum, even Zhoumi though they had some difficulties in communication. And of course Yesung and Kyuhyun. But Ryeowook and Henry were different, though he's much closer to Ryeowook than Henry. Instead of seeking protection from them, Sungmin had the urge to protect them. Maybe because they reminded Sungmin of his little brother.
“Ryeowook?”
“Yes, hyung?”
“I wonder, are you in love with someone?” asked Sungmin casually, though his eyes hiding a mischieveous glint. He stifled his laugh when he saw flustered Ryeowook dropped his book. His junior looked at the floor and didn't dare to look at him.
“I-No, I'm-Uh, why do you think like that?”
“Your song, it kinds of giving me impression of you liking someone.”
“Um-maybe. I mean I do admire someone, but I'm not in-in love, It's only admiration,” said Ryeowook, peeked at Sungmin shyly before collecting his papers quickly.
“Is that so,” Sungmin nodded, accepting Ryeowook's words although from the younger man reaction, he could say that Ryeowook liked this person. But it was okay for him, he was sure Ryeowook would tell him someday.
“Hey,” a head popped out from the door, messy brown hair man looked at inside the room. It was another routine for Sungmin, he would practice in the room with Ryeowook then Yesung would come and the three of them would go back to the dorm together. Sometimes Kyuhyun too, although most times Kyuhyun would be busy by his academic lesson; programming olympiad or something like that.
“Hey, hyung,” greeted Sungmin cheerily, he walked to the senior and poked his cheek, “Good timing! I have to meet my teacher for a minute, take care of Wookie while I'm gone. Okay?”
“Bad score again?”
“What do you mean by 'again'?!” Sungmin nudged Yesung's ribs, earning a grin from the later.
“Ddangkoma said you got 'D' on your last exam.”
“Ddangkoma can't talk, hyung,” said Sungmin with blank expression.
“He can.”
“He no longer can. I found him dead inside his tank.”
“YOU WHAT?!”
“Kidding, hyung!”
Sungmin ran to Ryeowook and hugged him from behind, using the younger as a shield from Yesung. He only grinned when Yesung glared at him, obviously thought his pet turtle was really dead. Ryeowook only looked at the two of without knowing what to do, so he only stood there with confused look.
