“So here we have a solid silver bar, donated by SM company for our charity auction tonight. Weighing at 1 kilogram, the bar is etched withed with professional calligraphy, making this a perfect piece for any collection.” The announcer waved a hand at the antique wooden box, the silver stick resting in the red velvet. The boy holding the box tilted it slightly forward, angling with the rays of the chandelier to further the dazzling item.

“So, our starting bid for the silver bar is $750, and we’ll be going by increments of $50.”

Choi Siwon was silent during the entire charity event, occasionally giving a polite tip of the head at other business men he truly respected, which were few by far. He took no interest in these charity parties, which were pointless and nothing but another excuse for building connections and working business deals. If charity meant extravagant halls and unnecessary decorations, exquisite but lavish delicacies, and ravish spendings on a new dress, then these parties would end world poverty.

Yet the silver bar caught Siwon’s eyes. Well, more like the boy holding the box that housed the silver bar. His dark brown hair gleamed under the chandelier, casting a radiant glow over the strands as he stood straight up. His black blazer fitted his body well, and Siwon caught the faint pink dress shirt underneath his blazer.

“We have $850 over there. We’re at 900, anyone for 900.” Siwon raised his hand and the announcer immediately caught it.

“Sungmin-sshi will now walk around with the silver bar, letting the audience inspect it at a closer distance.” The announcer waved Sungmin off as the boy did so, watching his step as he made his way into the decorative dining hall. “Sungmin-sshi, go over to Siwon-sshi there, since he is currently our highest bidder.”

Siwon took note of this Sungmin as he gracefully manoeuvred his way into and through the crowd, strategically avoiding business talks and fallen fur coats.

“Si-Siwon-sshi.” Sungmin took a bow as he lowered his body so that Siwon could take a look at the silver bar. A faint waft of raspberry, probably from his hand lotion, danced in the air as Siwon took a peek at the bar.

“We have a 950. $1000, anyone?” Siwon put up his hand nonchalantly as he gleamed at the prize in front of his eyes. Sungmin had soft skin, Siwon could already tell without feeling the milky flesh. His pink lips were lightly glossed and looked ever so inviting. His luscious, chestnut brown hair had streaks of darker browns casually tossed in

Siwon reached up and felt the silver bar before purposely brushing his hand against Sungmin’s, the boy immediately shifted his eyes in embarrassment as Siwon smiled at his cuteness.

“Sorry, Sungmin-sshi.” Siwon continued studying the boy’s features, noticing a faint pink flush in his cheeks.

“It’s okay, Siwon-sshi.”

“You don’t mind it, right?” Siwon grinned at Sungmin, who politely shook his head. “You have really soft hands, by the way.”

“We’re at $1050. Anyone else?” The announcer scanned the room as Siwon raised his hand and cleared his throat.

“$1500.”

Sungmin gasped and looked at Siwon, who smiled back while a chorus of gasps radiated around him, murmuring at his bid.

“Siwon-sshi has just bid $1500, anyone else wants to bid $1550?”

“Cute, am I right?” Siwon took another look at Sungmin, relishing the look of surprise on his face. He was unbelievably cute, and judging but his speech and mannerisms, and intelligent.

“Elegant is how I’d describe it.” Sungmin gently closed the lid of the antique box, his fingers already clasping the gold lock shut.

“I meant you.” Siwon whispered loud enough just so the two of them heard. “But I suppose that applies just as well.” Again, Sungmin did a polite bow before weaving his way through the tables, narrowly walking into a chair as Siwon watched his backside disappear into the crowd.

The rest of the auction proceeded excruciatingly slow as Siwon traced his eyes around the dining hall, hoping to find Sungmin somewhere. With random people coming up to him and initiating small talk, Siwon wasn’t very successful until he walked outside into the lobby for a breath of fresh air. He immediately recognized the backside of a man as he placed a hand on the shoulder.

“Siwon-sshi.” Sungmin turned around and their eyes met for an instance before Sungmin broke the eye contact.

“Why are you out here?”

“It’s too stuffy in there.” Sungmin briefly tugged at his tie and peeked at his watch. “I have to go back in to hold the next auction item, so... so I should get going.”

Siwon grabbed Sungmin’s hand and used his own momentum to pull him into a light kiss, smirking as Sungmin widened his eyes in complete shock before he pushed away.

“Si-Siwon sshi...” Sungmin brushed his lips with the back of his hand as Siwon chuckled at the sight.

“Wait for me tonight.” Siwon called out as Sungmin quickly scurried away, mumbling broken words of frustration and embarrassment.

An hour and half later, Siwon found Sungmin leaning against a wall, a pair of pink earphones inside his ear as he played with his pink iPod. His fingers gyrated on the circular disk while his pink Converse also tapped a similar rhythm against the ruby carpet, another indication of his drowning in music.

“I’m glad you waited.” Siwon smiled as Sungmin looked up from his music, the latter also wearing a smile on his face. He took out one of his ear plugs as Siwon walked towards him.
