IDM week 3
http://www.terraincognita.com As I said last week, I usually don’t care for flash sites, but these IDMs are proving me wrong. Terra Incognita is a wonderfully designed site, albeit done in flash. The navigational layout is incredibly simple, but is perfect for the site. The tab like system makes it easy to tell where you are and find out where you can go. The third navigational system in behind the scenes also is well done, albeit at the bottom of the window. One of my favorite things about the design of this site is the color scheme. The main part isn’t to bright, with subtle beiges, but emphasizes the green landscape of the front page, you almost feel like the meld together. The other pages are also well colored, ranging from blue to green, orange and yellow, but more subtle tones that don’t overwhelm the user. It is interesting to note on that most pages have the text on the right and the picture on the left, but the “Our Studio” page has it reversed, even though the pages under it are the other way. Overall Terra Incognita gives a smooth well-designed site, that makes you want to continue through it, unafraid of being bombarded with pictures, and animations.
