Inspiration Design Model Critiques #2

http://www.rustboy.com/

I have never been a fan of flash sites before.  They are usually to flashy (I actually did not intend that pun), drawing your eyes to twelve thousand dancing images, and too large for anyone without a broadband connection.  That being said, I liked the rust boy site.  It was flash, so it was a little flashy, but overall the site was subtle and very well done.  The color scheme fits well, and the navigation bar has everything a good site should have.  It is good that the creator includes the date of the last update, so visitors know if there has been anything new added since their last visit.  That is of course, if the author updates the date when he/she makes changes.  I personally would have had the video played in the main window; I am not a fan of pop-ups, even if they are legitimate.  I don’t know if it was my browser (firefox 1.0pr) but some of the movies loaded off center, so I had to resize the window to view it completely.  Overall the site is good, clean, and laid out so an idiot could find what they are looking for, and isn’t that after all what a good web site should be?
