Chicago...I'm here!!

Wow what a busy few weeks it has been...actually about 3 weeks of non-stop action.

For starters...I studied my ass off for 2 months straight in order to take my nursing board exam. It was the most stressful time of my life. I went in at 9am to take my exam. After 125 questions...the computer shut off. My exam was over. I then had to wait 2 days to find out if I passed or failed. I did my best to keep busy as I was so nervous. Everytime I thought about it I would start shaking. The results finally came in...and...

I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can now officially be known as Laura Bank RN, BSN!!!!!!!!! It's so incredibly exciting I started jumping up and down and crying tears of joy. The emotions were more than I could imagine. After getting that good news I only had about 5 days to pack up 2 years of life at my apartment and much more from boxes at home. It was very stressful trying to get everything packed up. I have a lot of shit! It's amazing the amount of stuff I accumulated. Finally it was all packed.

I then embarked on a 2 day move. Joey and I got the truck early in the morning, loaded up his bed and couch from home, loaded up things from my house, then hit EL where it took quite a few hours to get all my stuff loaded. We still weren't done though as we then went to kzoo to load up the rest of his stuff. The truck was packed to the max, from side to side and top to bottom. There was not an inch of spare room in the truck or the van (we had to borrow his dad's van to get everything down there). After a long day of loading, we were up early in the morning and drove down to Chicago to unload. His apartment first, and then mine. It was such a long 2 days!! I completely collapsed that night. The next day was spent starting to get everything put away and sort through all my boxes. Saturday Joey and I headed back home to MI to pick up our cars. i then came back down to Chi-town on Sunday with my mom and Austin!

It was nice having my mom here to help me with unpacking and getting things set up. Especially since my landlord kept having to come in and do things. Like for 2 days there was a painter here repainting the entire apartment. I was so frustrated and annoyed that this wasn't something they took care of in the 2 weeks between when the old tenant moved out and I moved in...but whatever. I got groceries and it was so nice to finally have Austin with me. My mom left a few days later, and I was finally on my own.

I have now spent the last week and a half still getting everything unpacked and put away. There is just so much stuff and I feel like I need a lot more room for storage and shelves for things. I refuse to buy anymore furniture though. I have already spent enough money on a futon, coffee table, bed, bathroom stuff, rug, dressers, shelves, and all the other little stuff an apartment needs. So I'm just going to have to make due with what I have.

This weekend Andrea and Mary are coming down!!! I'm soooooo excited to see them!! I wish Kerrie was coming too. I miss my roomies. As much as it's nice to have my own place, I miss having them around. So because of that I'm really doing my best to get everything put away and looking nice. Then on Monday I start work. I can't believe it's already the end of July. The months have just flown by, and I'm sure time won't get any slower. I no longer get summer/winter/spring break. I will just work, all year, every year. It hasn't quite hit me yet, but I hope I love my job and so it won't matter to me. I'm sure it will set in once I start though. Even though the next few weekends are super busy and I have to go home 2 more times, it's ok. My birthday is a week from tomorrow as well!! Unfortunantly I don't get to really do much to celebrate the way I wanted to...but that is life. And I just hope I have a good birthday regardless.

Well, that's my update for the ages. I've been so busy getting things together and moving non-stop I haven't really had the time to sit and do nothing. But that's ok, I'm sure I'd get bored of it after a while. So back to unpacking I go...still have lot to do before tomorrow night! Adios all!
