I really haven't seen a lot of "big" as in international shows this year. And what I have (eg Mudvayne, Arch Enemy) was pretty good but nothing phenomenal. But it's funny the bands that I saw a bazillion times last year, this year I pretty much didn't see at all. I saw Daysend 3, Frankenbok 1, TBE 3, Full Scale ZERO, MM9 a few times. Each of them I saw between 10-20 times last year. this year it's mainly been parkway, stab, cog and karnivool draining my wallet of funds. And it hasn't really been an obsession with actually seeing the bands and OMG I have to be at the front, but rather...hey, my friend lives in that city, it'd be pretty fun to go there and hang out.
But I must say, compared to last year, NOTHING has come close to Machine Head, and nothing has come close to Killswitch (at full strength) either. They'd still be my top 2 live bands I would think.
