Like Kindergarten

I remember that line in High School Musical.  "Like kindergarten..."

So background of the line, in case you didn't watch the movie.  Gabriella explained to Troy how in your pre-school years, you meet a little kid, just like yourself.  You take the risk to talk to that person and "five minutes later" it's as if you've known each other your whole lives or become the best of friends.  I don't recall the exact lines in the story, but that's generally what the conversation was about.

I just came from my neighbors' house.  I met the neighbors around two years ago.  They were actually friends of my brother and sister, meeting each other at the football field.  Of course, football's not exactly my sport.  Strangely enough, eventually, I talked to them, and I don't know how to explain it, but they just suddenly became friends.  Nothing in particular in common.

Anyway, it's amazing how they go through so much just for me.  I don't even do much for them.  I eat their food, I spend their electricity, I use their printer, and a lot more!  And throughout this week, they're gonna spend it practicing for my birthday, and they don't mind at all.  In other words, I just don't feel like I deserve friends like them.

Connections, connections.  It's interesting how their friends and even family (or their cousins) become so easily my own as well.

These are the kinds of friends who you can feel will be by your side no matter what.  They may be beyond what you deserve, but they still choose to be friends.  As much as it sounds like you're using them, it makes sense.  You shouldn't screw up a friendship like that.
