Nightshift 26: M58

Aug 24, 2007 15:50

After Allen left, Sasuke had decided to run through kata; if nothing else, it could be a warm-up to whatever was left of the night. Simple kata: nothing that required much movement (he had limited space), speeding it up with each repetition until hands and feet were nearly blurs.

It should have been calming, really -- but an oppressive sense of something made it impossible to even come close to relaxing. It wasn't the usual ominous air this place had at night. There was something more directed about it, as if it had a solid source.

Another patient? It felt almost like chakra, but not quite.

Whatever it was, it made it increasingly difficult to resist the urge to activate his foiled Sharingan and ensure that some kind of chakra-beast wasn't about to fill his room and smother him. That wasn't chakra, it wasn't threatening Sasuke, and the last thing he could afford was the slow drain of the doujutsu, extended limit or not.
