Day 26; Radio Broadcast #1

Aug 24, 2007 12:11

(With a click, all the radios turned on at once, and the familiar scratching voice of the DJ came on. There was no music tonight.)

Welcome, welcome all my little cats and canaries. It's time again for Jack's nightly show, listen up and listen up good. The piper is leading you to your dooms. The tombs are no place for you, not now. Would you scale Olympus with a single rope? Would you challenge Zeus with a pocket knife? Storm the gates of Hades with an air rifle?

If you value your life, my fair-weather friends, you will gather your strength before descending into hell. The boy scouts had it right: always be prepared.

Let me help prepare you.

I offer you what aide I can. No one found that fire-spitting demon of death I left last night. Such a pity, you were so close. I've moved it, you know. It's gone where it's cold, where it's fires are dormant. The demon of hard fire sleeps in the snow. It's children sleep with it.

For those of you with poor memories who need to see what's before you, I offer you this: A polar box, equipped in full, to help you remember those tricky little visions. Look for it among the stacks.

And now a simple reward, one I know so many of you crave. I, too long for that sweet inhalation, that orgasmic exhalation.... Oh how delicious it is. What is a man without his vice? But such a pity. They really shouldn't be kept where they could get so wet. Better hurry, if you want them.

I am tired of warning you. You do as you will, you run willy-nilly across the lands of the damned, never watching where you step. You will fall if you don't rein in, and if you fall here, you never get up.

Take my gifts and use them well. You'll need them, if you head down to hell.

Peace out my friends, I have much to do this night. I'll be in touch. See you on the flip side.

Jack out.

(The radios went silent.)
