The amount of fatigue he suffered was something he genuinely wasn't expecting. Right after he cast the fonic arte, Jade found himself stumbling forward, body crumpling in front of the door. Sweat ran down his brow and his gasps were ragged and uneven. The feeling wasn't entirely pleasant, and for the first time since his stay cold realization sunk in that the urgency of their situation was far greater than he originally assumed.
He took the time to rest, hand grasped into a loose grip around the knob while his forehead remained on the surface to leech whatever coldness emitted from it. The feeling would take a bit of getting used to, but it wasn't long before he staggered back to his feet. This certainly made for an interesting change in his battle tactics, and so finding a weapon was almost a necessity.
Fortunately, the closet revealed many items that'd soon prove useful in his arsenal, especially the mop he saw near the entrance. Jade let his fingers run along the surface with a hint of a smile creeping up the corners of his lips. Yes, this would do nicely.
There was also a long pipe near the end that caught his eye. He looked between the two objects before shrugging lightly. One could never have too many back-ups, after all. Part of him was somewhat unsure if it were wise to test the contamination effect so soon, but he was running late already. Something as heavy as the pipe would be as good of a trump card as any, and so after making a grab for it he concentrated hard to break up the matter and form it around his arm.
As expected, Jade dropped to one knee, though he didn't feel as weak as he had been, just... heavier. It took a little more effort to lift his arm, but it was bearable in the end. Still, he thought it wise to rest just incase, standing only after he was certain he was ready.
