I finished up the details on the bodice and re-draped the skirt for the steampunk vampire
The bodice was based off of a Truly Victorian pattern, TV422. I used this bodice pattern because I knew how it fit and I love the tail on the back. I wore this bodice for a while with a different dress and have discovered what I like and don't like about the fit on me. Here is the basic pattern
I did not want the bodice to be high necked, so I widened the neckline and rounded it out. I know that the shoulder to bust measurement is too long on me so I shortened that portion of the bodice. I also wanted the bodice to be shorter on the sides below the waist. So I shortened the sides of the bodice and also reduced the waist measurement. Here is the picture of the back.
Then I worked on the skirt. This cotton is so flimsy that it is not standing up well in the apron drapes in the front. It just looked so messy. Here is the before on the left and the after on the right. I spent a couple hours playing with it this weekend, but it was worth it and I am much happier with it now.
Next task is back to the vampire blood box. And maybe a new corset and possibly an alternate hat and this outfit is done!
