Last night in the Castle Anthrax

So what else is there to do in the Castle Anthrax on a Saturday night....well make exciting underwear of course!

Actually I doubt this stuff is exciting, but I needed underwear for my Steampunk vampire.  About October of last year I made the wired bustle from Truly Victorian (TV101).  I love this bustle! It packs flat, which is great since I am usually traveling for the Steampunk stuff.  However, the fact that the bustle ties together in the back means that the ties go across the butt and, in my case, one of the ties sits at a place that makes it feel like the bustle is getting fresh with me.  So bloomers and a chemise are definitely in order.
The chemise is really very basic and just made out of some muslin.  I wanted to decorate it but did not want to buy anything specifically for this project.  So I used the left over lace from my bustle (the white eyelet lace) on the bottom.  I then used a thin, white eyelet lace for the top edge and the straps.  The lace used on the top is the type with holes in it for a ribbon to be laced through it.  Since no one is ever going to see this stuff, I decided to add some really really girly, but silly, lace I found a year ago.  I know the colors are not showing up very well in the pictures, but this lace is baby pink and grey with cat motifs.  Its silly, but I love it!  I then matched the pink by adding pink ribbon through the top edge eyelet lace.

I then made some really simple bloomers.  They are simple, long (like mid calf), drawstring bloomers.  I added 2 layers of the grey and pink cat lace to each cuff and used leftover pink ribbon for the drawstring.

Tomorrow I finish the bodice and I think I have finally decided how I want to fix the front the the skirt.

steampunk, finish it, steampunk vampire
