Larsa hadn't gone very far that night. He just wasn't up for a trek across the city in the dead of night with crabs running around. Their search had been fruitless and it left a sour taste in his mouth. The young emperor had decided to either sleep there or keep watch in the lobby or one of the first floor rooms, whichever it ended up being. At the time, he was as far from the entrance as possible, buried down in the lobby as he stared at a wall. His eyes didn't see the wall he was watching, as his mind was on other things.

He didn't hear the voices outside, unfortunately, because his mind was on other things, things like the blade in his hand and the last he had seen of his brother so long ago. So he wasn't alerted to the fact that anything was wrong until Sora came bolting down the stairs, yelling out her name. Larsa snapped out of his reverie and wheeled around to see what was going on, eyes widening in shock as he spotted Sora running through the front doors. He soon followed, relief apparent on his face as he spotted Namine sitting on the steps. He didn't offer any words immediately, but took the jacket he hadn't taken off from their last escapade outside, knelt down, and wrapped it around her shoulders. She looked cold and he refused to let that stand.

Naminé looked up only briefly when two of her friends--Sora and Larsa, if she could count the young emperor as a friend--appeared, before lowering her gaze to her knees again. She didn't acknowledge that Larsa had put his coat on her, but after a few moments she drew it a little closer around her.

"A man took me away," she answered Sora dully. "He said he wanted to keep me safe...then Marluxia came and took me back here."

Goofy had been holding down the fort while the others searched, hoping against hope that Namine would appear on their doorstep any second. He believed totally that they would find her, but even the knights boundless optimism had taken a hit when the search party had returned empty handed.

Still, there was a lot of other places she could be, and Goofy wasn't about to give up yet. He'd been on his way to give a cup of hot chocolate to Sora to try and cheer him up, when he'd heard his friend call out Namine's name.

Scrambling outside, barely avoiding scalding himself in the process, Goofy spotted the little Nobody standing on the doorstep looking absolutely miserable. Walking forward, Goofy knelt down and offered her the hot chocolate with a hopeful smile.

"Welcome home Namine."

Luckily, Sora was not alone in discovering Namine, and she was quickly offered a coat and some of the hotel's hot chocolate from Larsa and Goofy. As for himself, Sora embraced her in a tight hug, more out of sheer relief than anything else. He pulled back as she answered him.

Took her away?. Sora knew what that was...it was kidnapping. They'd taken her against her will. Taken her, and kept her away from a computer or any other way to communicate. Sora's expression moved from shock to confusion to a disbelieving frown.

"Who was it?!" Sora almost demanded, the fire of anger clear in his tone. First and foremost, he knew they had to get Namine indoors and warm, but that didn't stop his immutable sense of justice from surfacing. Whoever had dared to kidnap one of his friends, especially Namine, would not get off lightly. They would pay, and pay dearly.

He didn't even really notice she'd said Marluxia had returned her. What was important was that she was home again, and that he would deal with her kidnapper, whether they were working with Marluxia or not.

Truth be told, Jeff already had a general idea of where to go. After hacking Seymour's entry, learning about him and Marluxia, and then Naminé --

It was clear that Jeff had to step in and do something. (That's what Ness would do.)

It's a little hard to miss all four of them. He remembers Sora, but he doesn't recognize any of the others -- another boy and a ... walking dog. Quite frankly, Jeff has seen stranger, so he's not all worried about him. There's only one girl there.

Perhaps that's her. Naminé. He didn't ask for a description, so he can only wonder.

He hears Sora.

Who was it?!

"Seymour. I believe that's his name," Jeff pipes up. He glances at the girl, smiling awkwardly; he's trying to be friendly, but he ... really doesn't know these people at all. (It's easier to be brave with Ness, Paula, and Poo.) "Am I right, Naminé?"

Larsa stood back a little to allow Goofy to stride in and give Namine the mug of hot chocolate, noticing how she'd pulled the jacket closer around her. Unable to add much in the vocal department and not wanting to completely overwhelm her, he moved to the side and trotted off back inside, knowing full well it would look bad for a few moments that he was going inside while everyone stayed outside with Namine.

He headed for the first room on that floor that was open, pushing open the door with little effort. Walking right over to one of the beds, he stripped it of the blanket and brought the whole thing back out into the cold, where he knelt in front of Namine and offered it to her.

She was not going to stay cold much longer if he had anything to say about it.

Naminé looked up again at Goofy's voice, and reached out to take the hot chocolate from him, trying to smile a little in return, but hers was trembling and poorly formed. She looked down again, letting her hair hide her face, and held the mug cupped between her palms, without drinking.

Before she could reply to Sora's question, though, a new voice had offered the answer. Glancing up through her bangs, she saw a boy she didn't recognize with fair hair like hers--unthreatening in appearance, yet he knew her name when she didn't know his. Naminé didn't like that...didn't like being noticed. Nonetheless, she nodded in response to his question. "Yes. Seymour."

And here was Larsa again, this time with a blanket. She reached out for it, remembering her manners this time and murmuring, "Thank you."

Goofy smiled back at Namine reassuringly, then stepped back to keep her from feeling crowded. He knew the girl didn't like being the center of attention, so he tried to give her a little space. Still, his face became more serious as they learned the identity of her kidnapper. It just wasn't in Goofy to be angry with anyone, but he had certainly become very...upset was the best word, upset with Seymour. He would not be allowing the man anywhere near Namine in the future.

Once everyone had spoken for a while Goofy gently suggested, "Maybe we should move inside, it's gettin' kind'a cold out here."

Sora looked up at a new voice. It took him a moment to place it...Jeff, the boy on the journals who'd asked him about Marluxia and the Nobodies. He seemed good enough, and he'd been very helpful with giving information. "Thanks for the help, Jeff."

"Seymour," Sora repeated with a cold, dangerous tone. He'd seen him on the journals. No matter what the reason for it, Sora would ensure he paid for it. He'd FIND him, and he'd...

But the knight's voice snapped him out of the growing flame of anger in his heart. Goofy was right, of course. It was cold and there were crabs. If he was going to go after Seymour, he'd need help, his friends, and he'd need a plan. That wasn't as important at the moment...right now, Namine was important.

He let out a long breath, staving off the pent-up anger enough for now. Sora waved a hand to invite Jeff inside...there was more hot chocolate inside for all of them, anyway. He carefully stooped to help up Namine. "Yeah, let's get inside."

"Naturally," Jeff assures Sora, smiling a little. "Sora, right? It's good to finally meet you in person as well."

The anger is there. The hatred. Emotions can't make rational thought, but they make for a strong heart, at least. He really is kind of like Ness.

The scientist pushes up his glasses and nods, appreciating the quiet invitation.

"Good idea; there's much I'd like to ask and tell," Jeff agrees. He glances at Namine, apologetic. "Terribly sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner; Jeff Andonuts is the name. I learned about you from Sora."

Well. Sora and Marluxia, but Jeff decided it was best to not bring up the pink-haired Nobody right now.

He also gives a nod to the dog and other boy; he doesn't know them, but no reason to be impolite.

Larsa moved to the side once the blanket had been laid across the girl's lap, allowing a fleeting smile to cross his face as she murmured her thanks, and stood there looking out across the street. He heard the words that were spoken, let the name of the accused slide in one ear and out the other.

This whole ordeal was bringing back memories and he didn't like them. While he hadn't ever heard of who had really killed his father, somehow this was bringing back the memories of the day he'd heard of that, when Al-Cid had broken the news to him and Princess Ashelia. His father and his brother Vayne had been trying to protect him for so long, but they were both gone now, Judge Gabranth as well. All of them had died in the line of duty. And then he had been torn from Sir Basch's care. Now he was being offered the chance to make sure someone else stayed safe... and so far he had failed in that.

He wouldn't allow it to happen again.

As Sora made the suggestion to move inside, Larsa nodded, glancing down at Namine before moving to hold the door open. If he could do nothing else right now, then he would do something as small as this. He only wished he knew what she needed.

Naminé seemed not to care about the cold one way or another, but she nodded at Goofy's suggestion, and got to her feet with Sora's help, draping the blanket around her shoulders. "Hello," she said to Jeff Andonuts, as though they had met randomly on the street and not in a situation like this.

She let the others guide her indoors, wishing she knew something to say that would assure them all that she was all right. Or at least...something that would let them know that she wanted to be alone. That was what she really wanted, wasn't it? She was surrounded by her friends, and she knew they cared about her and wanted to make her feel better...she just didn't know how. She didn't know what she was feeling, if anything. It was kind of like what being an ordinary Nobody must be like.

Goofy looked at Namine for a second, an unusually contemplative look on his face as they all moved inside.

Once everyone was inside he spoke up and said, "Namine, I know you just went through a lot, do you wanna go get some rest before you talk about it? Someone can stay outside your room, just in case."

Sora had led them about halfway to the kitchen before he noticed Goofy being a little hesitant, and then he asked Namine what she wanted to do. She was being a lot quieter than usual, and not in any good way. He glanced between Namine and the others, feeling conflicted. On the one hand, he was still angry and he wanted Namine to explain what had happened in full detail so that he'd know just what he needed to do to make sure this never happened again.

But on the other...Namine looked very overwhelmed. The Keybearer had to make a visible effort to keep his seething emotions under control. Running off now wouldn't help her. "Do you want the hot chocolate, Namine?"

He wished that he could go find Kairi...if there was anyone that Namine needed now, it was her Somebody. She'd know just what was wrong with Namine, and better yet, she'd give her the confidence to explain what it was.

Well, as much as he's sure Sora is attempting to be very welcoming...

Jeff frankly doesn't feel suited here. He did want to be sure that Namine was safe, and he's accomplished that. He wants to speak at length with Sora as well, but it seems there are better tasks right now.

The task of being a friend.

With a polite cough, he makes himself a little more sparse inside; he isn't leaving, but he's going to give Namine and her friends space. He offers an awkward smile before heading down the hall a little.

Once everyone was inside, the young emperor hung back behind the group, feeling oddly out of place. He was still a newcomer to Namine's life and as such, he didn't need to be hanging over her shoulders all the time. There would be other chances to speak with her and be sure she was all right.

For now, he wouldn't pressure her, but neither was he going very far. So he stood out in the hallway, a little bit away from everything and tried to think of something, anything, else he could do.

His attention was caught by Jeff starting to walk away and he headed over. Perhaps the other boy had information on the kidnapper. "It is good to see that Namine has so many friends other than myself."
