Aiy, it's been a trying day.
Took Kaden to the doctor's this morning because his cough just won't seem to go away. We started him on Robitussin on Saturday because he coughed so hard he threw up his breakfast (poor guy) but he's still coughing. Anyway, the doc has walk-in hours on Wednesdays from 8 am to 9 am which woudln't be so bad but he's a 40 minute drive away.
SOOOOO....got Kaden up early, fed the baby, had breakfast in the car and managed to leave the house at quarter to 8. I didn't give Kaden his medicine because I wanted the doctor to be able to hear his cough. See where this is going? Just as I got on the highway, poor Doob starts coughing and throws up all over himself, the car seat, the car, Geneva's baby blanket, etc.
So I pulled off and found a parking lot, took the Doob out of the car seat and began wiping with Wet Ones. The entire time I was cleaning, Geneva screamed and cried, but I had to get the puke before I fed her. UGH. That was damn stressfull.
20 minutes of cleaning and feeding the baby, and we were on our way again in a stinky car. I got to the docs at 8:59, thank God. Doob is fine, nothing in his lungs, just probably one cold melding into another as I expect it will do until Spring. Double ugh. It's good to know he doesn't have bronchitis, but it makes the trip kind of pointless. Anyway, by the time I got Doob to school and saw the chiropractor, it was 11:15, which meant Mom watched Geneva for a whole hour, whoop dee doo. Between laundry and lunch that left me with zero time to write. But mom has Doob till dinnertime so hopefully Geneva will take a nap and I can do something with my book.
And in embarassing news: I signed up on my high school's alumni website, which is very cool. The have a feature called a "friends list" that only I have access to and I thought, wow, cool, a list of all the people who's pages I want to keep tabs on. Excellent. So I went through and added everyone I hung out with in high school, even people I kind of knew but not really and those I'm very much NOT INTERESTED in talking to at the moment but would like to see how they're doing, you know the deal. Of course they didn't TELL me they were going to "ping" everyone I added to my list to tell them "Daisan added you as a friend!"
NOOOOOOOOOO!
It could be totally fine or very bad, depending on whether people care that I added them. But one of them was my ex-boyfriend who I'm pretty sure still hates me in a bitter angry sort of way and honestly, I just didn't want him to know that I was looking at his page. I don't want him to think I'm all, "Hey, friend me! Let's forget the past!" because I don't really care to renew a friendship with him, I just want to see that he's happy and healthy and doing well. Urgh.
Pride and Prejudice the BBC version arrived on Tuesday. Or at least, the first disk did. I watched it and am very happy with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy, but then, I would be happy with Colin Firth as anyone. Jennifer Ehle is growing on me. I do not like the actress who plays Jane AT ALL, she's nowhere near as pretty as she needs to be for that role, though I can see she does have kind of classical Grecian features which might raise her to the top of an eighteenth century beauty list. Still, I'm not in love with the production the way I'm in love with the 2005 Keira Knightley version. As I told Dan, though, that might just be "first loved is best loved" and this one will grow on me. I did enjoy the proposal, which was the last scene of the first disk, and am eagerly awaiting the conclusion. Hee hee. Dannus has been really sweet about the amount of time I'm spending watching the same movie. I haven't told him yet that the Bollywood version "Bride and Prejudice" is coming after I finish the BBC's. *ducks*
