Andrew is really sick right now with a fever and "sticky nose" as he says. Our friend's kid was super sick at the bday party we went to Saturday and I had no idea until he'd already had ample time to breathe all over Andrew.
Colin Firth is so cute. I'm going to have to sign up for Netflix.
I think it could be a case of "first loved is best loved" because I saw the A&E version long before the Kiera Knightly version. I wasn't impressed with the KK version. It was good, but I like the A&E version soooo much better. I liked both Jennifer Ehle's and Colin Firth's portrayals of their characters much better. And I actually really didn't like the KK Mr. Darcy at all. I will give you that the A&E Jane is a little weak though.
And CHS has an online community? I'm intrigued. I remember reading about it as something they've planned to have, but nothing more than that. I can't find anything on the main homepage about it as well. Do tell me more!
Apparently I need a "Constituent ID" which I don't have as far as I know. Did you get sent something in the mail about that? I'll have to email them and ask about that. I'll be sure to friend you once I get signed up.
Ah, yes. I got a flyer with the id number printed above my address. Thealumni office ought to be able to give you yours; I'm sure they'd be thrilled to have another alumna sign up with htem.
I also sighed up for the CHS website, although I haven't friended anyone, and haven't figured out how to upload pictures yet. I didn't do much exploring, as I was at work at the time.
Interestingly enough, I just watched the Keira Knightley incarnation of P&P on HBO a couple nights ago. It wasn't bad, and I thought both she and Matthew Macfadyen did a credible job. However, having seen and loved the BBC version previously, I just felt it couldn't compare. It kind of felt like "P&P, the Cliffs Notes Version" to me. You simply can't fit the same depth of story into a two-hour film as you can a five-hour miniseries. Plus, well, Colin Firth.
I did prefer the sisters in the KK version, particularly Lydia and Mary, possibly because their roles were somewhat minimized, and I found them quite irritating in the BBC production.
