That Was The Weekend That Was
Friday, September 4th -- Took dinner over to our friend's house and made dinner there while catching up on all the episodes of Person of Interest that she had taped for us. One more session to finish off Agents of Shield and we'll be totally caught up.
Saturday, September 5th -- Errand running. Dinner at Denny's. The Opera House was showing Mr. Holmes at half-price so we went to see it. Wonderful movie. Bought a large amount of stuff at Salvation Army including a handful of CD's. Got out to the car, opened one at random and discovered I'd bought an empty jewel case. No refunds, but she let me exchange it for another. Fortunately, that was the only one. Picked up a marionette for $3.
Sunday, September 6th -- Visited my mother in the nursing home. I got her another 300 Piece jigsaw puzzle. Those things are harder to find than I thought. Puzzles are either, 500, 750, or 1,000 piece or they're for children and less than 50 pieces. Finally caught up on the laundry. Music practice. Summer's End is this coming weekend. As near as we can figure, it's the first time in twelve years that we haven't been asked to provide medieval music for a vigil.
Monday, September 7th -- Labor Day, Day Off. An entire extra day to catch up on honey-dew projects around the house. Except it was so hot and humid that one trip up and down the stairs left me dripping sweat. Got a few projects done, but nearly as many as I had hoped for. Grocery shopping. Tropical Pepper (http://www.tropicalpepper.com) makes hot sauces. They make five kinds of Habenero Sauce; Hot, Xtra Hot, XXtra Hot, XXXtra Hot and XXXXtra Hot. I'm up to XXtra Hot. Got some work done on my puppets. I'm schedule to perfom at Harvest Raid (http://www.heronter.info/Events/harvestraid2015.html) and nothing's ready yet. It's been nearly three years since I did a shadow show, and I want to get Stream of Butterflies finished for this year. I'm also planning on Hansel and Gretel. Most years my household throws a major Labor Day party blowout with barbeque. This year, our host has been to four weddings and is worn out. Next year.
