Sometime around 3am, Jess' parents arrived from Georgia. I played the good male roommate and lended some muscle in hauling stuff up from the truck. At one point, I wasn't really paying attention, so I walked into that family of spiders that lives by our neighbor's window. I think most of them retreated up their web-line instead of crawling into my hair, but I still couldn't help but think at least one did. So after that grueling labor--which included hauling a fully-assembled wall unit up a flight of stairs--I had to take a shower. Oy.
Right before Jess knocked on my door to inform me her parents had arrived, I was rebuilding my computer. I was surprised it booted up "fine." Before it got into Windows, it went through disk cleanup, apparently deleting all of the files that were corrupted in my hard drive crash at the end of last semester. The less I think about what I could have possibly lost, the better (these include most-all files I've accumulated in the past decade). It got into Windows, but most programs were non-functional. So before hopping in the shower I popped in my Windows CD to do a repair job. It seems to take as long if not longer than doing a fresh install, and I encountered several errors during the process. Even if I wound up further gimping my computer, it's not like it was functional anyway.... ::tear::
