Isis is off with dad, trucking some. She got to go to a company picnic, and gets to see more of America, which is good for youngin's. I've notice people around here like to think that Cincinnati is the be all and end all of the world. A majority of people who are natives, were born here, live here their whole lives (except maybe if they go out of state for college), and generally DIE here. That's a rather sad existence to me, who has been a little bit of everywhere. My world is THE world, but that also makes me feel very distant (in various ways) from people here. Oh my, I'm going on. Anyway, that leaves Ivy here, with me.
Michael went over to Tony's house, and this computer was fubar...big thanks to Birdy to send me what I needed and give me instructions for it. It probably helps that her family's all high-tech.
Ivy and I have been trying to find things to do while it was mom and us, or just us. So, our first endeavor was to make Coq au vin (French: Chicken and Wine) with braised vegetables (turnips, potatoes, carrots, and parsnips). Turns out, I like braised turnips. ^_^ The dinner turned out beautifully, and we also made a chocolate cake. Well, she made most of it, I helped. Tonight's endeavor: a lemon bundt cake, and another of the chocolate cakes with a different (less rich) frosting.
I'm also catching up on postings I made on the avatar-fans livejournal.
I made a post that probably didn't make much sense, but boiled down to this generalization: Men tend to write a certain story style, and women tend to write a different one. Note, "TEND to"; of course, they didn't appreciate this, and I got a pretty negative feedback then. *shrugs* I'm not surprised...in fact, I expected it. The general populace doesn't tend to agree with my observations, no matter how correct they may be. This is why I am quite selective regarding people I associate with. There was some other nonsense in there, but that's neither here nor there.
Currently, I am debating on making the Avatar-style art I made of myself into an icon. But, I think I've decided against it.
Shade and Sweetwater. ^_^
