What's the Bzz? Glade Expressions Collection

In September and the first part of October, the area near where I live was threatened by not one, but three wildfires. Luckily, although some people were evacuated, nobody was hurt and no homes were damaged. The fires, however, did impact the lives of every single person living in the area regardless of whether their homes were under a potential threat for some simple reason: smoke. It consumed everything. With the exception of a couple days with some much needed wind, the air was stagnant and the smoke hung over the entire valley like an oppressive cloud. It was so thick that at times you couldn't see to the end of the block and the air quality was hazardous. We were advised to stay indoors and wears masks if we absolutely had to go outside. For those weeks, it felt like my hometown had been transformed into some apocalyptic future in which the environment had been decimated whenever we ventured outdoors. My words don't really do justice to how bad it was, but hopefully this picture from local photographer Lynette Smith will give you some idea:

Needless to say, the smell of smoke was all pervasive. It was like living inside a campfire. I usually like that smell as I associate it with memories of camping with my family as a child. When it became impossible to escape the smell, however, it quickly lost its appeal. I can't even explain how excited I was when my Bzzkit for the Glade Expressions Collection arrived. If the products worked as I hoped they would, I wouldn't have to deal with the overwhelming stench of smoke any longer. I rushed off to my local drugstore to pick them up almost immediately and tried them out as soon as I got back home.

The first product I got to try was Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist. It's the first refillable fragrance mist from Glade and comes in four scents: Cotton & Italian Mandarin, Fuji Apple & Cardamon Spice, Lavender & Juniper Berry, and Pineapple & Mangosteen. As I really like clean scents, I decided to go with Cotton & Italian Mandarin and I was not disappointed. One quick spray of this stuff was enough to eliminate all odors and it smelled very fresh. One thing I especially liked about this was that I could remove the label from the holder making it more inconspicuous and easier to incorporate into your decor. This is definitely worth trying, and as Glade offers a money back guarantee if you don't like it, it's also a product you can try risk free!

The second product I got to try was the Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser. This is a non-electric oil diffuser and is supposed to deliver three times more fragrance than Glade's Solid Air Freshener for thirty days. This comes in three scents: Fuji Apple & Cardamon Spice, Lavender & Juniper Berry, and Pineapple & Mangosteen. I was a little bummed that I couldn't get this in the same scent as I could the Fragrance Mist as they don't offer that, so I settled for Pineapple & Mangosteen. I figured it would be the scent I'd like best of the three and unlike the other two, the holder it came with resembles bamboo as opposed to plain white plastic. Once I got it home, it was really easy to set up and the holder actually looks more like a tiny piece of decorative art than an air freshener. The smell reminds me of a piña colada and is not overpowering at all. I'd say this is more for smaller rooms as when I tried it in the living room, the smell seemed to disappear. As with the Fragrance Mist, Glade offers a money back guarantee if you try this and are not completely satisfied.
