What's the Bzz? Science Diet Ideal Balance

I like to tell people that I am a stereotype in the making because I work at a library and live in a house with not one, not two, but FIVE cats! Granted, only one of the cats belongs to me, but for the most part the stereotype of the cat lady librarian holds true. Because of all the cats in our household, however, I was super excited to get a chance to try Hill's Science Diet Ideal Balance cat food through BzzAgent. If there ever was a house that could use more pet food, it is ours! The food has chicken as the first ingredient and doesn't contain fillers like corn that are common in a lot of other pet foods. Science Diet is also one of those brands that I've seen at vet's offices, so I think of it as a higher quality brand and something that's going to be good for my pets.

That being said, I was a bit worried that not all the cats would eat it. The cats here range from a very kittenish 2 year old hyper as heck furry hellion to a sixteen plus year who I swear has forgotten that she is in fact a cat and not a dowager duchess in an expensive fur coat. Some of them will eat whatever is given to them, and others will stubbornly refuse to try anything new. To my compete and utter surprise, the former was true with Ideal Balance for all of our cats. They loved it! A couple of them were even trying to get into the bag before I had even opened it because they could smell it and wanted it! If only mealtimes with the kitties were always this easy! The only real drawback I saw with the Ideal Balance food is the price. $12.99 for a 3.5 pound bag of food is pretty steep compared with other brands and with as many cats as we have, I'm not sure it's something we could afford. However, if you are interested in trying it out, there is a rebate form available on the Hill's Pets website that will let you try a bag for free.
