33 Oregon

Before I got married in Portland in 2008, I had never been to the state of Oregon. Later that same year my sister and I drove along the northern border of Oregon as we navigated the Columbia River Gorge from east to west en route to Seattle via Portland. Ok, so navigated may be a bit strong of a term. Once you are in the valley it's quite difficult to get lost, seeing as there's a large deep river on the right (with the occasional dam to break up the scenery) and steep cliffs on the left, many of which are topped with windmills.

Anyway, Portland is nice. Even if it wasn't I'd go back at some point just because I have many friends living there. Heck, if I were to consider moving Portland would probably be on the short list. Or it would be if it wasn't for the hipster chum problem.

As to the rest of Oregon, I definitely want to get to Crater Lake at some point. I'm sure there is a lot of other pretty scenery to see as well. What do Oregonians recommend?
