Trips and Toys
I decided that its time I head back to Seattle to hang out with some friends. I also decided that I need to go back to Nebraska to see some family and friends, since I haven't been back for two years now. So... San Diego to Seattle, Nov 7-12. Nebraska, Nov 25-28.
When I was at work today a coworker came by and offered us some tickets to see the Padre's (baseball) game after work. I figured what the hell and took one. Turns out its not just a seat... they had rented a SUITE. We had our own little area, private bathroom, stocked refrigerator that was stuffed with booze, free hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches... chips & dip, and dessert. AWESOME! :D I got a free hat too!
After I drove home I found that I had some new toys waiting for me. One is my new 5mw green laser that I picked up off of eBay for $13. I was a little skeptical it was going to output its rated amount, but it sure does! It puts out enough power to make an easily visible green line shooting into the sky. It also lights up a whole dark room bright enough to read by! Well worth the $13. :)
The other toy that was here is my new 5-port gigabit switch. It doesn't shoot a green laser or anything, but it's still pretty cool. ;) The LCD has not arrived yet... it was attempted to be delivered 3 times, so I have to pick it up after work tomorrow. Seriously, why the hell hasn't UPS come up with an option to have packages delivered to a residence after business hours?
