LCD woes...

I went and picked up my LCD last week and was very excited to finally have it, but when I plugged it in it had a column defect (bright blue line all the way down the middle!), so I had to get it replaced. I should pick it up tomorrow morning. I also decided I should get rid of my other CRT monitor (17", in the closet attached to my server box), so I found a 17" LCD on craigslist for a whopping $50 and gave away the CRT. The closet has much more room now!

I took an hour or two and went over my bank statements to try and figure out how much I had put into the WiFi project out at TDS so that I can be reimbursed. Total cost was $565. Not too shabby. $350 was donated to the wifi project, and I had said I'd put in $100, so I am going to guess that the SDAA is going to throw $465 my way and call it good. (I hope!)

Last week I started looking into purchasing some land in Nevada in a little more depth. I found a helpful application on the Bureau of Land Management site that can tell me whether a spot of land is owned by the government (either BLM or Department of Defense or whatever) or is privately owned. It unfortunately doesn't tell me WHO owns the land, though. In a perfect world I would like to just find an area of land, call up the landowner, and say "Hey, you own a mountain and I want to purchase the top." Land out in the middle of nowhere is routinely being sold for under $1k per acre, I saw one that was under $500 an acre. At that price I could buy a pretty sizeable area!

The internet access at SOE just died... That means all of our games are down, and it also means I can't post this entry. :P Oh well... I might just head out, since I can't do much work without being able to look at my current bug list or anything. -- OH HEY! Its back up! I guess this means I dont get to go home early... :(
