Not the first time I had to remind kids to not talk with police unless a parent or lawyer present. So far only theoretical, but the story of the kids questioned and suspended for something innocent this morning reminded me.

Moved the fire hydrant! Someone going far too fast at the corner in front of our house hit the fire hydrant, and moved it in the ground about a foot! Driver is OK - I went out and made sure she was ok, got her to sit down when she was shaking, etc, and called the Fire Department so they can come look at the hydrant. Very irritating when the forecasters are blindsided. No snowplows showed up in our neighborhood until 5pm; they didn't plow the *highways* near here until well after more than 4" fell, sometime after 2pm.

I'm cooking; the other great apes are out shoveling.
