So I'm considering going back to UGA to get a second degree in journalism. I have until the 27th to decide. It would only take a year to get it, if I take a full course load (yuck). I just CANNOT get into this essay! I'm having a hard time even forming a hypothesis about how equality v. liberty translates into different health care outcomes in Germany, Sweden, and the US. HOW.

So I'm taking a class called "Theology and Culture," and on the first day the professor said he would be focusing on philosophical and scientific issues, which excited me greatly. So I picked up the book, Religion and Science by Ian G. Barbour. I read the introduction and I'm already worried that this book, and perhaps the class, will be Christian ( Read more... )

Orenlicher and Donnelly attack the concept of relativism (at least, strong relativism) in human rights, but Qi advocates that Chinese people themselves view the concept of civil and political rights as imperialistic and a product of US self interests. I got all A's this semester... EXCEPT FOR HISTORY, which I got a B+ in. I emailed my TA to find out what's up. I've gotten an A on every single assignment, and got extra credit too, but I don't know what I got on my final. It must have been pretty bad!! But I was fairly confident when I took it.... We shall see!
