Romantic Dinner Episode III: The Aftermath
The dinner went wonderfully! Wendi got a fabulous bottle of wine, some bread (baked with Asiago cheese) that she turned into garlic cheese bread and some dessert. She seasoned the steaks, and we let them rest while prepping the rest of the meal and having a glass of the wine. I had candles lit all over the room, and had three of them on the table with just the V Day rose (looked better that way, more romantic too). Wendi logged into something called Pandora - it's some music genome project that finds similar bands to what you choose to start off. Much better than the radio or TV.
The steaks got broiled for 5 minutes on each side (they were about 2 inches thick), then rested for about 5 more before we plating everything and sat down. Total foodgasm - everything went together perfectly with the wine. After dessert we had some nice chocolates that we got from Godiva, and we danced a bit before retiring for the evening...no need for details on what happened next!
It was a truly great evening, and we will probably start to do this once a month. It was a nice change to just stay in and be sweet on each other :)
