I've been using the internet for about 13 years now and I'm amazed at how stupid people continue to be. The internet is not fucking moderated. Whatever information you post will float around the ether forever so don't put shit out there if you don't want it getting into the wrong hands.
Even on message boards, just because you have a teeny fan base who replies lovingly to each and every comment/photo you post doesn't mean that there aren't hundreds of other members who think you are a dumb fuck but aren't going to say it to your face. If you post tons of embarrassing, personal information, don't get butthurt because someone calls you out on it or saves it for later trashing. That is how the internet works. If that bothers you, try keeping your info on your own fucking harddrive where no one else has access. Oh, wait, that means you wouldn't be able to be an attention-whore and get lots of ((e-hugs)) or :( s.
The only information I provide is information that I don't care about. There is absolutely nothing that could be used against me. I don't post pictures of myself, I don't let anyone know my exact place of employment and I don't post my full name or address. There is real-life & then there is this place and the two should be kept completely separate.
