The ballroom (or the room that was serving its role) was decorated in dark blues and silver. The walls had been draped with thick fabric. Nearest to the ceiling, the color was dark and rich, but as the curtains reached the floor, they lightened gradually. Peppered across the whole facade were little mirrors designed to catch the lower lighting and bounce it back like flickering starlight. Like the color, the little mirrors grew in density closer to the ceiling. Overhead, inky blue-black cloth created a night sky, small lights poking through to create familiar patterns above. High-backed chairs lined sections of the walls, leaving the dark stained hardwood floor open in the center for dancing. Mood lighting was provided by several lights that helped to bring up the brightness and ambiance of the room.
At the one end of the room, opposite the main doors, an elevated podium held a black polished piano and a soundboard that controlled some cleverly concealed speakers. A large collection of music was on hand, but a disk full of soft instrumental music played in the meantime. A great white moon loomed over the stage, completing the illusion of a night under the evening sky.
