[Quentin] Ughhh...what happened?rwarnerSeptember 10 2006, 03:03:17 UTC
Quentin woke up with a splitting headache and a rumbling belly. /Where am I?/ he wondered to himself. The last thing he remembered was...shooting? As his mind played back the last events it had recorded, he remembered a sharp pain in the small of his back, between his shoulder blades

[Mayday] And we're still hereweirdwebSeptember 10 2006, 04:41:36 UTC
May looked up from her mug and waved at Quentin, smiling despite the mouthful of chocolate and mini-marshmallows that prevented her from speaking. "Things don't make sense here, ever. How're you doing? You okay?"
She couldn't remember if Quentin was one of the ones shot; everything had happened so fast when she rushed back to the scene, and spending the rest of the afternoon out on a sweep and then in the briefing made it hard to keep track of who was where. There was no sign of the pirate this time, which was good.
[Daniel] Evening, CitizensfikgirlSeptember 10 2006, 13:29:40 UTC
It wasn't until Daniel woke up from his short nap that he realized how badly he needed the sleep. Just as if he were back at the SGC, chasing down a translation or trying to piece together a mystery, he kept going on cup after cup of coffee, never stopping to take a break. The short nap refreshed him for a few hours, but a quick stop in the bathroom to wash his face resulted in an impromptu check up by Dr. Pierson who none too subtly reminded Daniel that it was always a good thing for leadership to set a good example. Daniel agreed that he would get at least four hours of sleep - that was after bargaining down from six - after a final check in with all parties

[Quentin] Well, considering I've been shot...rwarnerSeptember 10 2006, 17:56:50 UTC
Quentin nodded to Aiden and her suggestion of food. "Food is one of the things that drew me here. The other is this killer headache I have. Does there happen to be any DHARMA brand Anti-Headache medicine around?" Opening the refrigerator, he quickly found the leftover soup and prepared himself a bowl. While it reheated, he responded to May's question.
"Other than this headache, I'm feeling fine. I do find myself a little confused however - the last thing I remember before waking up was being shot in the back, yet there is no sign of any injury like that. Unless I dreamed it all."
Just as he finished, Daniel entered the room and greeted the group. "Quentin, Daisy, it's good to see you both up and about. How are you feeling?"
Quentin and May exchanged a glance.
"Your timing is impeccable Daniel," Quentin told the linguist. "I just finished telling May here that despite my memory telling me that I was shot in the back, I seem to be rather un-shot."
[McKay] Coffee vs. Chocolate?lost_mckaySeptember 10 2006, 20:30:03 UTC
Coffee. The siren song that hasn't yet failed in drawing McKay to her caffeinated embrace. The scientist entered the room slowly, and stopped in the threshold, his head first facing the floor only to rise when he realized that there were actually people in the room. Muttering a quick something under his breath, he moved rapidly towards the coffee pot and pulled open the cabinets to get the ingredients needed for that black nectar of the gods. So far, it had been a less than laudable day. Covered the field of temporal physics, learned what each part of that generator did, including the Asgard's... Thor and Hermiod would not be if they found out. Moreso because they hadn't thought of it first, but wasn't the entire problem of the Asgard the fact that they'd lost creativity? Of course, that particular victory on his part was crowned with being not only shot down but machine-gunned rapidly in the water by Isabel. His head shook with the thought as he faced the wall. Science good. People, bad. So what else was new for the nerd

[Isabel] Oh no! People!nohatmattSeptember 11 2006, 15:33:03 UTC
Isabel stumbled her way back into the cafeteria, having taken a trip to the bathroom. She'd barely left the place, not really wanting to try and find a room to sleep in, but tiredness was rapidly catching up with her, and she looked an absolute nightmare, no longer willing to summon up the concentration necessary to spruce up her appearance with her powers.
At the entrance, she stopped in surprise when she saw that the cafeteria occupied by quite a few people, some of whom she recognised. Daniel, McKay, Aiden... they looked like they were making hot drinks.
She made her way over to them and sank into a chair, relishing the feeling of her leg muscles relaxing and not having to hold her up any more. It was getting difficult to keep her eyes open.
"I think the hot chocolate's in that cupboard on your right," she said to McKay, catching his last comment as she sat down and then watching him warily in case he decided to call her 'Blondie' again.
[Sam] Oh no! People!starborn_scribeSeptember 11 2006, 16:58:07 UTC
Sam hadn't missed the wary glances exchanged between Isabel and McKay as he sipped his hot chocolate. (What's that all about?) The self-proclaimed genius was anything but subtle, so Sam figured whatever it was would reveal itself in short order.
He considered Isabel for a moment. The blonde hadn't been aggressive in the least since the incident with Claire. Although Sam wasn't ready to forgive and forget the assault just yet, he could treat her civilly. "You can't sleep either, huh?"
[Mayday] Oh, sit down already, we don't biteweirdwebSeptember 11 2006, 17:02:47 UTC
Isabel looked like a frightened rabbit, and May sighed and scooted over for her to sit down - next to her and not right next to where Aiden had been sitting. The need to avoid the blonde had evaporated over the course of the day; she'd worked out most of her animosity breaking the speed record in escaping the smoke monster and then in the last perimeter sweep.
All afternoon, a small part of her had been constantly reminding her of Normie, and Brenda, and how she'd forgiven them - and Normie had tried to kill her parents. Granted, he'd been severely messed up by his grandfather and spent every day since then trying to make things right, but - if she could forgive him, she could be civil to Isabel.
Besides, it was way too late at night to instigate hostilities. Seriously. She just wanted to enjoy the relative quiet while it lasted and she hadn't jinxed it yet

[McKay] Nice is nicelost_mckaySeptember 11 2006, 17:46:04 UTC
Isabel's entrance brought Rodney's attention around to the door, and his expression fell to an unhappy scowl. Yet another who enjoyed threatening him for no other reason but they could. Still, he nodded and turned around once more to look into the cupboard. He pulled the door open, rooted around a little, digging through. "Tea... su-- Ah!" Victory sounded in his voice.
Rodney turned around again, though this time to address the woman who hadn't -yet- turned on him, his tones overtly polite and enunciated. See? A woman who actually was nice to him. "Yes, well... I don't get chocolate very often. Coffee, well, that's a necessity. I still have more wo-- Did you say marshmallows? Yes, yes, thank you." He takes a step forward before he snaps his fingers and twists around. "Coffee." Focus, Rodney... He'd forgotten to finish making it before getting sidetracked. "Right." Only the adding of water was left to be done there, thankfully, so once that was done, the machine was turned on, the liquid flowing into the carafe with the soft sound of

[Isabel] Don't call me when McKay's heart gives outnohatmattSeptember 11 2006, 19:18:45 UTC
Isabel smiled gratefully at May as she made room for her, then looked wearily at Sam.
"I don't really know what to do with myself," she admitted. "I'm exhausted, but I don't know if I could sleep." She wondered if she should tell them why she didn't much feel like trying to sleep - worry about Jesse and the others, worry about Claire... she should make sure they knew she was concerned about the woman with an uncanny resemblance to Tess though.
"How- how is Claire?" she asked, stumbling over the question quite unexpectedly. She sensed more eyes on her immediately.
Re: [Aiden] Wouldn't dream of it.det_aiden_burnSeptember 11 2006, 21:02:25 UTC
Aiden smirked over her mug. So Isabel couldn't sleep, guilt would do that to a girl. It was a good thing too. Guilt keeps people from continuing down the wrong road.
"Safely tucked away from you for starts. Other then that it's going to be a waiting game with that baby. It'll be awhile for we know if what you did caused any damage."
It was not Aiden's job to sugar coat things. The reality is if Claire went into premature labor (Aiden really didn't know the details) because of what Isabel did it could suffer a whole host of problems that facilities in this hell hole wouldn't allow them to correct. Aiden wanted to make damn sure Isabel understood the gravity of that, so that next time she'd think before she'd act.
[McKay] From orbit!lost_mckaySeptember 11 2006, 22:43:47 UTC
A pot was found sitting where it was supposed to be, right on the stove top, and while the coffee brewed, giving it's soft music to the room, Rodney took up the pot and refilled it with water and placed it back, turning on the heat. Next, a mug was produced, one that he's practically claimed as his own, as he now was rarely without it or his laptop.
To hear the question, and the answer-- Wow. Now, the astrophysicist was no people person, at all, and in order to see any measure of contention it must be visible from orbit. Atlantis control, this is McKay. We have a real problem here... and he couldn't help but smirk rather smugly. Seems blondie has a problem making new friends? So he's not the only one?
McKay whistles softly and turns to lean on the cabinet, in front of the coffee pot. Even he hasn't done that. "Wow. Way to go, blondie."
[Mayday] I'm the mature one here? What gives?weirdwebSeptember 12 2006, 00:26:03 UTC
Well, so much for that plan. May resisted the urge to groan and roll her eyes. Just like that, they'd gone from peaceful camaraderie to a hostile silence. Isabel seemed to shrink even more into herself, if that was possible. Great.
Aiden's smirk didn't help either. May had no desire to sugarcoat things, or coddle the other woman, but she had no stomach for a round of condemnation right now. It was too late, and it had been too long of a day already. Changing the subject wouldn't work, so it was time to focus on what was important - Claire's condition, not how it happened.
"More importantly," she added, "how is Claire doing?" She directed her question at Daniel, the most likely to know what was going on.
[Daniel] Now, play nicestarborn_scribeSeptember 12 2006, 00:32:49 UTC
Daniel frowned Aiden before replying. "Claire is fine. She's still in the beginning stages of labor." He turned to Isabel. "You've been nothing but helpful since this morning. Keep that up and I'm sure everyone will let bygones be bygones." However tempting, Daniel resisted the urge to look pointedly at Aiden.
"Hey, she threatened me earlier. How about an apology for that too, huh?" McKay wasn't about to let that go quite yet. Normally, he didn't let things lie festering, but since coming to the island, he's been pulled up by the shirt and pushed down, cursed at, and threatened, and he's had enough. He's been pulling his weight, and then some, but just because he had no particular ability, other than a smattering of Ancient gene that he required for work and the fact that he was a brilliant scientist (one of the most in the world, so said the Pentagon), he'd been a toy to the others. "Not helpful."
