Since I began working at Subway, I've started listening to old pop songs that used to be hip back in the day (the date of "the day" still being figured). You see, my boss had this radio installed so that people walking down the street outside might hear a song that they used to like, and think, "Oh snap! I love this song! Where's it coming from?" and sell more sandwiches by luring the guy into our shop. The only problem is that none of my coworkers have quite figured out how to change the station when our manager isn't around, and so suddenly I'm finding myself listening to songs I haven't heard since I was twelve years old.
Just the other night I was restocking the tomato slices, when I had to stop and realize that even years after I decided I didn't like that kind of music, I still had the words memorized.
The moment of realization went something like this:
*singing* "Waiting for tonight, OOOOOOH! When you would be~~WHAT THE HELL?!"
