it's when you dont hold back. it's when you tell your cheesy jokes. it's when you forget that rule that on dates you're not supposed to eat anything but salad and you eat how you normally do, which usually includes the plate. it's when you strip off the 'dress clothes' and put on the sweat pants. it's when you don't worry about waking up before he does so that you can rush to the bathroom and reapply your makeup. it's when you blow your nose FOR REAL, like you normally do when noone else is around. it's when you start to tell him all about what you learned today in history and you dont stop when you realize what a nerd you're being. it's when the un-poetic things seem more poetic than Shakespeare, when the tongue tied moments seem more eloquent and heart-felt than charisma, when the unromantic encounters become more 'romantical' than any candlelight dinner. it's when you are truly 'you' - that's when you know how deeply 'in it' you really are. being who you really are is one of the hardest things in life to do, because if you show in every aspect of your life who you are, and what you are, you're giving other people the opportunity to take it in and judge it and possible leave you, heart in hand, all alone. trust; thing i have been, still am and probably always will be trying to figure out. when is it safe to show someone who i am, what im made of, what i think about, what i try not to think about, what life has taught me, what i worry about, what my frustrations are, what my dreams are.. when is it safe to just be me...
sometimes i wish i could just say what i felt. and not worry about what others would think. so much goes left unsaid because im so scared of the other person's reaction, and that it won't be what i want. but in the end, by not saying anything anyway, im still not getting what i want. so is it better to just sit back and not say anything and just leave it where it's at? or do i say something and end up risking what i already have in the hope that it could turn into so much more? i don't want to go through life thinking about all the could haves, would haves, or should haves. i want to remember the things that i DID and not those that i DIDN'T. but at the same time, the fear of rejection or unacceptance is so strong. i just wish i knew what i was supposed to do. this doesn't make sense. it's 4am. i need sleep. goodnight & sleep tight.
