In the story 'The Chest of Silver', the activities revolve around getting access to the strong-room of the City and Suburban Bank on Sloane Street.
In the Sherlock Holmes story 'The Read-Headed League' the plot hinges on a planned robbery on the Coburg Street branch of the same City and Suburban Bank!
It is interesting that the two brothers-in-law used the same fictitious bank. Also, the character in 'The Red-Headed League' who is apprehended before he can commit his robbery has a slight resemblance to Raffles. I don't mean physically, but in the sense of maintaining dual identities, etc. He also gallantly tries to let his criminal partner escape. These two authors certainly had a lively exchange of ideas going on!
