Tomorrow I go shopping for an engagement ring. I'm not quite sure what I will get, but I figure I can go work with the jeweler to pick something out. I'll need to take some time to learn about diamonds in person, as opposed to just looking at websites.
Originally I was planning to just get a diamond mounted in a simple band so I could go back with Laura to pick something out. But the more I thought about it, the more that just did not seem my style. I want to show her not just that I can drop some money on a ring, but that I can spend the time to figure out what she would like. That I am observant to her tastes, that I am thoughtful and willing to spend time picking out something just right for her. And if it isn't just right, well I can always go back with her and pick out something that is.
