I've posted intermittently about my Plan to Take Over the World, which amounts to building a portable income from freelance writing and supporting myself 100% with writing by the time my kids both graduate from high school. Well, the PTTOTW took a big step forward last week and this week, accompanied by odd coincidences and life changes, etc.

October wrap-up...

I've been lounging all day. I'm all caught up on TV, and I wrote just over 1900 words on the short novella I've been working on. Also napped, had a lot of tea and toast, and mostly feel better, although I could totally crash right now, and probably will soon.

Anyway, at least it was a productive stomach virus.

After some consideration, years yutzing around about it, and some things finally coming together in a serendipitous way, I've decided to focus very intently on getting myself into a position where I can freelance full time. I've always wanted to write full time, but I've focused pretty exclusively on fiction. Now it's more of a two-prong plan ( Read more... )

Wow, I'm exhausted...

But today has had some happy moments. First, my son made the Honor Roll for his first half-semester in high school.

And my new book, Where There's a Will, which premiered Tuesday, has somehow cracked the top ten on the publisher's bestseller list in spite of not being an erotic romance.
