Earlier I mentioned Nano, and now my question is, how many of you lovelies on my friend's page are going to join me? And if you're not how can I persuade you to anyway?
I was sitting in my Principles of Microeconomics class and suddenly a story came to me. Yeah, that's how boring that class is. But anyway, I think I'll give the story a try for nano. It's nothing brilliant, but I feel like I might be able to competently write about it.
I guess you'd call it a coming of age story, although it takes place in a college setting, so a bit later in life than many coming of age stories floating around these days. Maybe it's more of a self realization story, similar but not the same. The idea came to me complete with five somewhat thought out, very flawed, delightfully disharmonious characters that were having a debate in my head. It's a good thing the class is so slow, because I stopped writing notes and began to jot down characters, plot, and setting details.
My brain does this sort of idea dump only once a month or something so I have to write the details down asap. But it's kept going all night, driving me to distraction and keeping me from reading my Aristotle. I wish I could start on it now, but the rules of nano forbid it.
I suppose I could always start this project now and come up with another for nano...but that seems unduly complicated, and one or the other would get trashed. I guess I must content myself with characterization sheets and note cards. (note to self: get some note cards!)
In other news, my chiro said my back was about as messed up as he's ever seen a back messed up that wasn't in an auto accident. I've been very careful to keep my hips and shoulders in the same plane for the last four hours. You never realize how much you twist until you're forbidden to twist. I love my Chiro!
