New trimester...

Mar 08, 2008 00:18

Well, the first week of my last trimester in high school has begun, and I'm *quite* excited. I will probably never have a lunch-in or -out, which is really disappointing, but classes I can sleep through, like "Explorations in Advanced Geometry" and "Environmental Ethics and Leadership" can make up for that. Physics is the same teacher, which is really nice (I like him, no one else seems to though) but I miss my old block kids... AP Psych will be interesting, since Dr. Glumm really is incredible, but she's not a very good teacher (whatsoever). Mr. Wells of Adv. Geo makes me want to brutally murder innocent babies. I absolutely despise him and almost every kid in that class, honestly. They're all just so *dumb*! And he infantalizes us all which is beyond aggravating. It's not that hard to make a hexagon with only a compass and a straight edge, I promise.

I'm beyond excited for WRRD (yes, it's Weird, it's Fabulous!). I have absolutely no idea why I didn't take it before, but I think I take sick pleasure in designing schedules that I will hate. Anyways, it's really Wisdom, Revelation, Reason, and Doubt. Only at NCSSM, eh... But we're reading Pride and Prejudice (a book read and then the essay due, all within two weeks, is rough). James took it 1st and 2nd trimester and loved it, and he's talkative and funny, so they loved him too. We had to introduce ourselves on the first day, so I said I made bread (boy told me too!) and Ms. Moulder asked if I did it alone or with friends, so before I can even get a response out, the entire class practically screams "JP!" Geez, I blushed...

I've been dating that kid for a year, come next Saturday... dang.

Movies I've seen recently (like within the past three days): Proof, Jumper, The Weather Man, Catch Me If You Can, Cruel Intentions, Harold and Maude, Knocked Up, O Brother Where Art Thou
That says nothing for my social life. They were all pretty good, but by that, I mean that since they were free, they were worth my admission price. Except Jumper, which I actually paid for, but it was funny and the effects were pretty awesome (they even included accurate air displacement!). And yeah, I kinda did sit through the entire thing analyzing how they showed the air currents, but I saw it with James who contemplated the wormholes and how the generator (which is apparently an inaccurate name) worked.

My mother has caused James stress. He's been planning to go to NCState for chemical engineering, but she took a course in it, and she says he's too smart for it, he'll be bored by it, he should go to UNCChapel Hill for Chemistry. Either way, he's thoroughly confused.

And I still don't know what college I want.

Well, time to start Flightplan. I don't think it's my type of movie, too much thriller and I've never developed a taste for Hitchcock-esque, but we'll see.
