The vast majority of cartoonists in Bellingham have degrees in, or at least have worked in, graphic design. I think it’s partially because there are about 100 designers for every design job in the county.

This is an ongoing joke among my friends. It started off because of a bit by George Carlin, and evolved by way of a autobiographical essay I did for English 101. Or did the essay come first.
