He was asleep, and he was sure of it. The cool sheets still felt slightly new, scrunched up under his fingers, and the smell of fresh paint was easily identifiable. An unwavering source of warmth from his right told him that Yoochun had cuddled up to him somewhere during the night. His mind was already hovering somewhere between reality and dreamland, spiraling out of his own control.
Being homosexuals, not only were they utterly despised and shunned by society; even their family and friends avoided them like the plague. They were out on their own, and their troubles were far from over. Somehow the heavens were out to oppose them; everyone was against them, they could not find jobs, they could not find a place in their hometown to fit the both of them in. Eventually, Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun were forced to flee to a quaint, quiet, little town - Sea Haven, to create a new beginning, to start their lives all over again, to keep their identities and their love a secret.
Junsu … It was a soft whisper, but he twitched involuntarily as though someone had screamed in his ear. Bringing the world crashing down on him again, Kim Junsu jerked himself awake to discover that he was breathing rather erratically.
Junsu … Junsu … Junsu … A melodious voice repeated his name over and over again, as if attempting to commit it to memory, but there was no shred of affections, nor human emotion, within the words. He shivered, finding the warm summer chilly all of a sudden. It was probably just his imagination, Junsu shook himself, but he could not get rid of the goosebumps that were rising on his arms. Pulling back his covers, Junsu found himself stumbling unsteadily, barefooted, towards the living room, trying to locate the source of the sound. It was definitely a man, Junsu affirmed.
Junsu … Come here to me … baby … In a trance, Junsu swayed towards the voice, almond-shaped eyes glassy and cherry-red lips parted unconsciously, until he reached the thick, fur mat where the couch laid. Strong arms pulled him onto a waiting lap, wrapping him in an embrace, and he inhaled a lovely, addictive scent that made him think of warm bread and coffee on a bright sunny morning. Junsu closed his eyes in contentment.
Junsu … Almost sing-song, the velvet voice murmured his name, lips grazing his ear. Junsu … I’m so lonely without you …I need you … He felt cool fingers stroking and threading themselves in his brown locks. Frozen, Junsu lay obediently in the other’s arms, feeling the coldness radiating off the other man and seeping into his torso, chilling his body; but he did not move.
He could not move.
His brain registered that fact and screamed at him to protest, to fight back, but every inch of his muscle seemed locked in place. He tried desperately to shift his arm, to move, to do something, but every nerve stubbornly refused to react. Junsu could only look up, into a pair of deep, black eyes that were unbelievably beyond all point of humanity, which were swirling and twisting his consciousness into a pile of mush, rendering him speechless and as passive as a piece of blank paper once again. His mind had gone foggy and stupid.
The corners of his mouth lifted in a satisfied smile, Kim Jaejoong pressed a small kiss onto the cheek of the new puppet plaything he had found.
Kim Junsu.
