Sunday sunday I hate you Sunday

Jan 22, 2006 12:59

I am a dreader and a worrier and this ruins my Sundays. It sometimes ruins other days as well. Right now we are going to only think about today's issues though. Why am I so full of dread? It's the work week that begins at 9 am tomorrow and has too much stupid stressful crap. I didn't realize how much I was stressing until my shoulder started doing that thing the physical therapist told me in July or August 2003 "will come back throughout your life when you are stressed." So there. I'm not imagining it. I have proof in the form of, well, we can start with the headaches and stomach aches (since December) and the shoulder pinching pain (since mid-week this past week). Why am I stressed? I think it boils down to "not well supported at my full-time job." I just don't want to go into the details here because it is only 1) digging up the stress; 2) whining. Everyone, my job is generally a good job. But it is stupidly stressful sometimes. And I'm pushing "issues" in therapy and everyone is getting pregnant/married and this compounds the stress. So I'm going to the gym shortly. This is my best approach to dealing.

I'm super annoyed that one audiobook has been "in transit" so long at the library. DRIVING ME CRAZY because I don't like any of my other media w/knitting options at the moment, or particularly my media w/gym options.

On to talk about knitting, because while I have a giant stack of WIPs, with deadlines even, it's relatively relaxing.

1. Deborah sweater from Rowan for which the lost yarn has been LOCATED!!!!!! I *did* lose it out of the house--in the employee coat closet at the shop, to be exact. HURRAH! Now I just need to do the seaming. This has been procrastinated because...
2. KSH + Copa sample scarf for the store, which the store owner asked after yesterday.

The scarf is easily twice (*eta: 3 times, actually) as long as this now; my gauge is a little different so I hope for a lot of evening from blocking. It's not a problem but I need to be disciplined about working on it, so last night I alternated sets of the pattern repeat with sets of the...
3. hot water bottle cozy. But then it was time to do the "shoulders" and overall, this knitted up really fast and it's easier to seam. (eta: i hope to finish this tonight)
4. Angora baby booties from Last Minute Knitted Gifts for the latest announced pregnancy. I knitted one over breakfast/public affairs tv, will knit the other at tonight's staff meeting. Then I plan to take them both to the office and leave them (wrapped) on the desk so she can use them to announce her news to her boss. (She's only told two officemates so far.) (eta: mission accomplished. they're on her desk)
ETA: 5. a silly boucle sweater for the store that betsy is hating. I can give it back on Friday if this doesn't go well.

The Adrienne Vittadini sweater in Alpaca Silk and Backyard Leaves scarf are not even on this list, as you can see. The former is about 75% knitted; I have part of a sleeve and the lace cowl to go, then seaming. I'd like to have all this cleared away by February 10--or even by February 1, so I can start some new projects to choose from for bus knitting and the like, which will all take a back seat to the lacy, beaded KSH sweater for the knitting Olympics.

Oh and I have another article to do by March 1 so that could def. slow down the knitting. Hm, considering there are at least 2 other babies I want to knit for (wait, 3 maybe...), I may just have to focus on that. Lucky thing babies and kids are small and their garments accordingly fast knits!
