Discussion Post: General Guidelines

Jan 20, 2008 23:27

Ugh.

I hate to do this. I really, REALLY hate to do this. But in light of recent events, it seems prudent to at least come up with a list of things we would all like to abide by. Not really rules so much as "Hey, if you want to at least be tolerable, you should be able to handle these guidelines." Not really rules, since they can (and probably will be) bent in some cases, but ideas for how we can avoid disasters like this.

I know one of them is going to be "NO OCs OMG" but I think there should be some VERY specific guidelines in that, because some things call for OCs, and other times OCs get created by Cracktrans means (such as Lovetron, Genki, and Jeff). We'll have to be a lot more careful of general people coming in with OCs, however - especially humans. I was hoping it wouldn't be like this, but...

Alright, so, this post is open for ideas towards guidelines, as well as discussions on said guidelines. I figure after a week or so - whenever I stop getting tons of e-mails on the matter XD - I'll... I dunno, make a checklist poll of all the guidelines, so people can pick the ones they feel the best about, and we can work on making the other, unpopular guidelines more flexible for everyone.

Something like that.

So anyways, go on, get talking. This is a sad day for Cracktrans, but at least now we know that not everyone can play by the simple rules of "be nice to everyone and don't be a douche."

discussion, ooc
