Inaction

Oct 15, 2004 16:38

I love what the Democratic Party is doing to make sure Bush doesn't get into office again for another four years.

However, I feel they are only doing what they are doing because election time is just around the corner.

What happened to all of the lies Bush has told in the past? Yes, MoveOn.org has The Daily Mislead (dailymislead). Bush's lies are archived there. Hopefully, for all time.

But, here's one thing I don't get... Bill Clinton did something as simple as get head from an intern and then he lied in order to protect his own personal privacy when said intern decided she was star-struck and wanted to be the center of the nation's attention. While I do feel that was dishonest and morally "wrong", that was his own personal matter and a personal decision. Running the U.S. Government had nothing to do with that affair. That was merely a grilling by the media because it made good gossip on the front pages. The thing is, Clinton was nearly impeached because of that one display of dishonesty.

Why hasn't Bush been impeached? Just about everything that comes out of his mouth is an outright lie. There's solid proof of this all over the place.

Why hasn't MoveOn.org sponsored a "Sue & Impeach Bush" campaign? Or why hasn't there been some sort of a non-partisan coalition put together to do just that? Sure, there's the 9/11 Commission (which, by the way, is an absolute joke, considering Bush didn't cooperate at all with it), but that only deals with September 11, 2001. One day of misery. What about the other 1,130 days (up to and including today) after that? With Bush in office another 1,461 days after this term, what are we going to do with ourselves? That's a long time. That's 35,064 hours. That's 2,103,840 minutes. And that's 126,230,400 seconds. 126,230,400 seconds of the wrong President being in office if Bush gets in again. Every single one of those seconds counts for the United States.

Why have we as a nation already let the past four years go down the tubes? The President is supposed to serve the best interests of the people as a whole. So far, Bush has served his own best interests, and has used the United States of America as a vehicle for his own personal gain. Well, Bush and the whole lot of the crooked fakes he hired as his "advisory panel".

I think we're all way past-due with getting our country back. Do I, of all people, have to be the one to set something in motion?

Even after this term is over, and Bush is no longer President, he could still be tried in a court of law. I think that, because his crimes have affected the entire WORLD, he would be tried as a war criminal (after all, he is one). At least then the world would have its answers, if nothing else. Perhaps trying Bush in court would help make amends with some people, and maybe uncover some deep, dark secrets that we all should know.

For instance:
The attacks of September 11... Arranged by the Bush Administration in order to get the country pumped-up for a pending Iraq war? Sure, it was claimed it happened on 9/11 (911 is the number we call here for emergencies) because Congress was in session that day. But think about it. The weapons al-Qaeda had/has... Where did they come from? The United States. The United States supplied Osama bin Laden & Co. with weapons to help rid Afghanistan of the occupying Russians. Guess who was President? The Bush family has close ties with the bin Laden family. Coincidence? Could a terrorist regime really be as organized as people claim? How do we "know" this? Oh, the U.S. Government told us so. That happens to make it true. Right?

I think there's a possibility the 9/11 attacks were a part of a bigger plan--endorsed by the Bush family--to get the citizens of the United States of America motivated to eventually go after Saddam Hussein by alleging he had ties with terrorist regimes. After all, Saddam Hussein and George H. W. Bush don't exactly have the cleanest track record. And Dubya himself said that he was going to get Hussein back "for his dad". The entire 9/11 attach setup, the Iraq war, EVERYTHING related to the Bush "Administration" may have been all over a big family feud. Why the hell else do you think bin Laden still has not been found? Why else do you think Bush said, "So I don't know where he [Osama Bin Laden] is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him...I truly am not that concerned about him." [1] in a press conference? And just why do you think these "Weapons of Mass Destruction" were never found??? North Korea has plenty! They admit to it! Why not go after them??? I'll tell you why: Because Bush doesn't really care about them.

However, in order to make the "resolution" to this inter-family bitch-fighting possible, Dubya had to be made President, whether by virtue or by force. Hence, his brother helping rig the election results in Florida, and his cousin (who is head of a large media outlet) making an announcement that Bush won, even before the results were official. Oh yeah, and all of those dead people who voted in the 2000 election? Don't think anything of that. They did it all for the Bushes... beyond the grave? Maybe it was an act of faith! You know, being that the Bush Administration is a "faith-based" one.

Pheh. I can't finish this right now. I'm a bit too pissed off to think clearly.

Go see Fahrenheit 9/11. You might learn something.

Excerpt of Relevant Portions of Press Conference

Q Mr. President, in your speeches now you rarely talk or mention Osama bin Laden. Why is that? Also, can you tell the American people if you have any more information, if you know if he is dead or alive? Final part -- deep in your heart, don't you truly believe that until you find out if he is dead or alive, you won't really eliminate the threat of --

THE PRESIDENT: Deep in my heart I know the man is on the run, if he's alive at all. Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not; we haven't heard from him in a long time. And the idea of focusing on one person is -- really indicates to me people don't understand the scope of the mission.

Terror is bigger than one person. And he's just -- he's a person who's now been marginalized. His network, his host government has been destroyed. He's the ultimate parasite who found weakness, exploited it, and met his match. He is -- as I mentioned in my speech, I do mention the fact that this is a fellow who is willing to commit youngsters to their death and he, himself, tries to hide -- if, in fact, he's hiding at all.

So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you. I'm more worried about making sure that our soldiers are well-supplied; that the strategy is clear; that the coalition is strong; that when we find enemy bunched up like we did in Shahikot Mountains, that the military has all the support it needs to go in and do the job, which they did.

And there will be other battles in Afghanistan. There's going to be other struggles like Shahikot, and I'm just as confident about the outcome of those future battles as I was about Shahikot, where our soldiers are performing brilliantly. We're tough, we're strong, they're well-equipped. We have a good strategy. We are showing the world we know how to fight a guerrilla war with conventional means.

Q But don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban.

But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became -- we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his al Qaeda killers anymore. And if we -- excuse me for a minute -- and if we find a training camp, we'll take care of it. Either we will or our friends will. That's one of the things -- part of the new phase that's becoming apparent to the American people is that we're working closely with other governments to deny sanctuary, or training, or a place to hide, or a place to raise money.

And we've got more work to do. See, that's the thing the American people have got to understand, that we've only been at this six months. This is going to be a long struggle. I keep saying that; I don't know whether you all believe me or not. But time will show you that it's going to take a long time to achieve this objective. And I can assure you, I am not going to blink. And I'm not going to get tired. Because I know what is at stake. And history has called us to action, and I am going to seize this moment for the good of the world, for peace in the world and for freedom.
